AdreNaLiNe 09-08-2009, 02:21 PM With the change of Envenom from 7-9% of AP, for mutilate, wouldn't AP outweigh Agi even more than it does now? Assuming you maintain a respectable crit level, the damage gain from Envenoms itself is quite substatial. So assuming you have about ~16 gem slots, you'd be gaining about 320 AP instead. It would make it outweigh Agi as it is pretty much on par or a little bit ahead right now.
Yellow sockets with +5 or above agi would be converted to 20 AP, 10 Crit to help maintain your crit levels I'd imagine.
I think Mutilate may come out a bit ahead with BiS then since you'd be gaining a bunch of 5 stack DP ticks as opposed to 1-4 stacks as you rebuild stacks after envenoms. Based on the amount of envenoms I do on most fights (thanks Pessi) The amount of dps gain would be quite significant.

On a static target where nothing but long-term DPS matters (think PW), Mut and Combat tend to be very even.
On most real encounters, Combat is just plain-old better, either because of timed burns, damage boost phases, or adds.
AdreNaLiNe 09-08-2009, 02:28 PM Yea, I notice a big dps drop on something like northrend beasts during switches to Snobolds for example. I have to rebuild DP stacks and I lose a huge chunk of rupture dps (though that's a problem with both specs). But yea, a lot more of dps is based on timers and 'keeping stuff up'.
I don't want to mention any names but maybe our raid leader Adroit will see this post and say "hey mutilate rogues stay on the boss" since it's a pretty big dps loss.

AdreNaLiNe 10-01-2009, 12:37 PM Pessi, does Cloak of Shadows remove Powering Up on the Val'kyrs? I pop it and stay on the target during the vortex instead at the moment. It may be my own fps issues, but I have a hard time getting full powerup on the fight. I seem to just miss it even though I lag my way to it and it looks like the graphic hits me. It doesn't seem to stack very fast though, so I'm wondering if I'm removing it by accident.

Look at World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-6ODm1pxQiq1IHyAN/details/2/?s=13144&e=13451) go to Buffs Gained, and click the # by Powering up, and the # by Touch of Darkness. I cloaked the first touch, but there is no gap in Powering Up's uptime, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't wipe it.
