2nd Impression is hot to start playing out and we want to get some internet exposure going, i.e. a webite for our cards and flyers. What's the best route to go - MySpace or Facebook or something else? I know nothing about either.

I mean really...
I'm already working on both. But since I know nada about it I asked my daughter and she laughed at me for using MySpace. Others have told me that's the way to go. So I am seeking the eternal wisdom of the TW Music Collective, ok?
for the music itself - if you're on waffles they do free leeches+news announcements for bands that upload their albums to their site, not sure exactly how it works (probably somewhere on their forums)
they get tons of snatches, 100+ minimum

ReverbNation is the best, but not as popular as Facebook or Myspace. Myspace may be dead for personal profiles, but it's still the standard for bands.

this.
if/when we start doing shows, i'll probably just give out our myspace page as a reference. i'm assuming club owners/promoters use myspace almost exclusively. when i check a venues "upcoming shows" page, 99% of them point to a myspace page of the bands playing.
the last thing i want to do is navigate through some terrible band website. i just wanna hear a song or 2. myspace is best for this.

Quite true for now. Once FB sets up a way for bands to distribute/play music on it, though, it's over for MySpace.

FB has always had that feature as far as I know, just add the "Music Player" box to your page. I set it up for my band, and you can also set "buy now" links on the songs (to link to iTunes, CD Baby, etc).
