How much should each dpser put out in order to make the timer? Granted we only have about 6-7 people who do 5-6k dps.

But a guild-member posted this and it made me feel a little better
On the first day, 4,000 guild dropped anuberak-25, 44 killed a single heroic-25.
--chaingun 09-05-2009, 01:20 PM We were using a stupid strat for the worms...we used about 15 attempts on H NRB and managed to get both worms to ~50% when I think the correct thing to do might be to burn Acidmaw fast and then just heal the cunt out of your tank with cooldowns rotating. It's just too much of a god damn hassle to keep them both alive that long...
I wish we had done more attempts on it but I can't complain with them wanting a val'anyr.
Adroit 09-05-2009, 02:00 PM According to stratfu.com it's A TON of healing to keep the raid up with one worm enraged. Our raid week is over this week since we're taking Monday off for Labor day but we're going to try having a smoother transition into the worms to set us up for a successful NRB. On Gormok we're going to Bop the tanks just before the worms spawn to get rid of all the dots. We're going to space way the fuck out. And we're going to go for as even a burn as possible with beacons on both tanks and a shit load of overheals. We're also going to try putting a rogue in front of Dreadscale when he's kited so he can ferry the fire buff to the center where we want to try and get most of the posion victims to try and stand.
Oh and as for snobolds. We're going to try an all hands on deck strategy as the spawn outside of Enhance shamans and Ret paladins.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a couple of more Uld25 clears before we see any progress in TGC. (Or Blizz nerfs, which are probably coming in a few weeks)

In Normal mode, anyone that gets the poison (and isn't a moron) will have no trouble running to the MT to wipe the debuff. In Hard mode, it felt like you had ~3 seconds to move. If you couldn't make it to whomever had the fire debuff, you were frozen. Requires a lot more communication and cooperation!
Adroit 09-05-2009, 04:01 PM It's a real dumb check and DPS check to meet the 8 minute enrage. I thought I understood Northrend Beast mechanics pretty well but on heroic they are a lot more pronounced.

It'll be a while until we're geared up for it. suck.

We had 1 taunt, the previous tank with fire debuff would run through the poisoned players and back in position to taunt the boss back. That issue was theorycrafted and fixed the first or 2nd time we saw it happen.
Leaving only 1 worm up wasn't bad, we were having the issue of bad RNG taking them down at the same time where we'd have the poison debuff active but no fire debuff to cleanse it so we'd lose people about 1/3 of our attempts. Taking down Acidmaw first (keeping some melee on Dreadscale since the knockback fucks their DPS uptime) was MUCH easier. We'd still lose our tank once in awhile because of the huge hits + DoT, but it was better than wiping to RNG shit we couldn't control when killing them simultaneously.
We had 6 healers and I think only 1 death on our kill (MT iirc) and finished just as enrage hit. I'm sure we might adjust when we bloodlust or our Snobold strat (myself + warlocks dotted them and kept up a rotation on the boss while everyone else stayed on the boss, then when the boss was ~10% we'd blow them up) in the next week or two so we can rape the enrage timer. I think that timer will be nerfed pretty bad soon, as well as some of the mechanics that wipe most raids (fire debuff in the raid + not spread out enough, size and damage dealt by poison rings on the ground, etc). It's bad that it took maybe 15-20 attempts to kill Northrend beasts and then in 30mins the next 2 hardmodes were dead and required 0 theorycrafting after doing them in the 10man. Wewere done raiding for the week after Thursday though, so we'll check out Valkyrs next week.
Terra 09-05-2009, 07:43 PM Thats an interesting idea. We never tried anything aside from 2 tanks on Beasts, Jaraxxus, and Twins harmode and it worked for us so far. Our only problem with the beasts on hardmode is the frontal cone spray and getting the buff/debuffs to the tank and we fixed that later by just simply being more attentive.

Atreides 09-06-2009, 08:37 AM We cleared to Anub with 45 attempts remaining on the first night in 10-hard. Then we wiped 12 times trying to down him, and decided to come back later in the week. The next day, we went inside the instance, only to find that the floor has respawned with no way to get back down.

We wiped with 40k left on 14 attempts remaining. Turns out we were making harder than it needed to be, after several 4% wipes. Next week should go A LOT better.
Osiris 09-06-2009, 06:03 PM Did 10hc tonight, got to Twins with 42 attempts left or something, but then people started losing focus and we couldn't break the shield. Anyone know how much hp the shield has on 10m hc?

--chaingun 09-09-2009, 05:44 PM Our guild got 1 good night of DCless attempts on 25 man ToGC, and that was the first week it unlocked.
Every time we've gone in since then, we've had on average 4 players D/C on Gormok, every single attempt. They chain DC for about 30 seconds, then 2 of them are able to get back in, but the other continue to DC until we wipe or until the worms come out.
This is extremely frustrating, as 2 of them are healers, one of them is our only holy paladin. We aren't a good enough guild to 4 heal that fight unfortunately, so I'm not sure what the fuck we can do about it.
Obviously there's some client side aspect to it, but it's the only fight in the entire game that we've had these problems on, and dozens of other guilds are having the same problems on the same fight, so I think something could probably be done on their end as well...
AdreNaLiNe 09-09-2009, 07:23 PM I've had random disconnects since the patch came out. It is completely random for me. I could be doing nothing in Dalaran and disconnect. Never had this issue before.
The last time I ran into a disconnect issue was only in Ulduar.
I haven't had much DCs in ToGC or ToC, but I do in heroics/BGs/Arenas (most frustrating - 3x the other day).
Smaqaho 09-09-2009, 08:32 PM Last night we ran 2x 25normals (double trophies for mains) and I probably DC'd at least 30 times between both raids in ~2 hours. I'm pretty sure it's local and ISP related though because even web browsing has been rough, but I updated firmware and reset my shit tonight so hopefully it's fixed. I would've just taken the night off but we didn't have any other mains (with alts) to take the 25th spot in both raids.
