How do you schedule your workouts?

I've got two kids, one 5 the other 1 so things are very busy. I've been working out 6 days a week since mid july but its been tough getting things moving. One of the biggest reasons I don't go to the gym is that I simply don't have time. I mean as it is now I get home from work, immediately cook dinner + eat, put the kids to bed, and then get my workout in. On cardio days I eat light at dinner then work out and try to eat after. I'm not one to really stay up late since I'm up often by 5:30.

No family issues for me really, but when I know time is going to be rough I just plan ahead as best I can.

Well planned supper would be my best friend, crockpot\casserole type stuff.

Honestly I think you can get a pretty damned good workout in 30 to 45 minutes. I'd go higher intensity\less time at the gym, and look at a home workout when possible(i think you do p90x don't you?) I'd try to keep my cardio and what not outside of the gym when I could.

I'm on day 35 of the p90. I love it so far and can't wait to do the X next. I like the fact that I can do it in my home.

I totally hear you.

I have two kids right now and with work and house chores I have 0 free time. What I do, and I'm lucky in this regard, is I go during my lunch hour. I actually leave for work early and stay later (about an hour extra total) and I go to the gym at the office for about an hour and a half during the day then eat lunch at my desk while working.

We have showers and everything so it works out well.

I can't imagine having a family to worry about. When school rolls around it's just awful trying to get to the gym with HW, exams, projects, etc etc. Having another human dependent on me during all that would drive me fucking crazy.

My only word of advice is that anything is better than nothing. Sometimes I can only fit in a quick run or a couple sets of push-ups/pull-ups/crunches... but it's better doing that then saying, "eh, I guess I'm out of time."

Sucks though :(

i have like 30 minutes of free time a day after getting home, chores, dinner, make lunch, run to gym, rush rush rush, speed home, spend time with gf.

no kids in the picture.

if there were kisd I'd have to start going during lunch.

I guess im lucking because I have a gym in my office and I can go anytime I want.

I sometimes go on the weekends if I missed a workout and ill bring my 5 year old with me. Gives the wife a break and he enjoys the extra time together. Plus he likes to work out!!

The gym at my work isn't open on the weekends but I'll take my kid out to the park and go for long walks and stuff with him. Spending time with the kids is key. Plus it keeps them fit.
