made some mac and cheese. also a simple mixed green salad and some local cherry tomatoes.

the mac and cheese had gruyere, cabot x-sharp cheddar, roquefort blue cheese, whole wheat macaroni and some rapini. didn't take pics of the "in process" stuff b/c i kept mis-timing how long things would take and didn't have time to deal w/ the camera.

it turned out pretty well i think. the lady friend loved it. i liked it, but in a way i think it came out a little too gourmet (like a french gratin, actually), whereas i kind of wanted a more homey simple gooey mac and cheese :)

still yummy tho, we each went back for seconds and thirds.

(for some reason my camera won't focus right, but you get the idea)

the green salad has mostly arugula, and a little endive and frisee (olive oil, red wine vinegar, and lemon dressing).

the rapini are the green bits in the mac and cheese. after dicing it up, it was half stalky parts and half leafy-ish parts.

Man, Vermouth, love the pictures and recipes you post, keep it up.

The mac and cheese looks great with the different cheeses; I love the little healthy spins you put on your meals, the use of whole wheat pasta is clutch.
