I took a few weeks off to party/binge drink/eat garbage food before I moved a little while ago. Before that I went the the gym 6 days a week, kept a really clean diet, and avoided alcohol for the most part. I started going again last week and while my strength didn't drop significantly at all, I did put on a bit of visible weight and I don't feel nearly as on the ball as I used to.

So I've just decided to extend my workouts and make my diet even more strict than it was before. I'll ease up once I start to see results but in the meantime I'm fairly infuriated since I was still making very consistent progress. A week isn't much to worry about, just keep at it.

I took off for over half a year. Gained like 20 lbs. It doesn't show so much because I'm a tall guy and I have muscle on my frame.

I just started going again regularly. My strength suffered. I couldn't do more than 15 dips and 8 pullups.

Week 3 - I'm getting stronger and can feel it. My dips and pullups have increased and my major lifts are getting better.

My stomach has also tightened up and my pants fit better again.

You just gotta keep going. A week is really not gonna hurt you. 6-8 months....yeah.

i just came back from a float trip a few weeks ago with a cold or something like it, a nice cut on my foot from river rocks and i tweaked one of my biceps opening a door when i made it home. i felt like hell inside and out.

i made the smart decision and took a week off. i ate what i wanted, did no exercise and hopped back on the wagon after a week was up

it took a couple days to get back into my program but it was the right call because i felt like i was approaching burnout (i hadnt taken more than 2 or 3 days off in almost a year)

you have to be able to live a little but just make sure you get back into it with the same intensity and dedication you had as before

All you can do is fix it immediately. Don't say "tomorrow I'm gonna eat good and go to the gym"...just do it today.

Falling off happens, it's not that bad. Just focus on what your goals are and how important health is and you'll be back to working out and eating well in no time.

Taking a week off 2-3 times a year is a good idea mayn. Just go back to the gym.

For motivation I look at fat people.
