I don't have a blender so...any tips? Glare 08-06-2009, 09:26 AM if you're using water then use warm water (but not hot) which will effectively dissolve the chunks and give you a smooth shake if you're using milk you'll pretty much have to deal. i suppose you could try to warm the milk up and do the same thing but i wouldnt encourage it. are you using protein shakes as a supplement or a meal replacement? dweeb 08-06-2009, 09:36 AM Do you have one of the mixing/shaker drinking bottle? The ones with the grate on the cap do a pretty good job of breaking down all the chunks with enough shaking. I wonder how it would taste with just water... I'm using it as a supplement. I drink two per day, the morning one is a meal replacement...mostly because I have no appetite after I drink it. The one at night I drink after my workout. Well actually I drink a creatine thing right after my workout, then wait 30 minutes and have the protein shake. I should look into that xpdnc 08-06-2009, 10:25 AM if it's vanilla, you can add 2 tiny drops (and i mean tiny, this shit is potent) of almond extract. that'll make it taste decent even if you use water, and i don't think it adds any noticeable calories or sugar to it Soldevi 08-06-2009, 10:28 AM get a shaker cup? Rayn 08-06-2009, 11:18 AM get a blender ball / shaker cup thing MrSmall 08-06-2009, 11:32 AM I use ON 100% whey and water... it mixes in like 45 seconds I keep my powder in a plastic baggy, and put it in a plastic cup at the gym after my workout... Cleaning shaker cups every day becomes a pain in the ass just toss the plastic spoon + cup after I'm done heh also, I've been told you shouldn't mix your whey with milk, but with water after your workout, because milk takes a while to digest and negates post workout nutrition MistaKe 08-06-2009, 11:55 AM hrm I had been using milk. I wonder how it would taste with just water... Personally, for me, the only "flavor" I found to be good mixed with water (it's actually really good) is cookies and cream. I used to drink chocolate, and on multiple occasions, I tried to mix it with water and it tastes awful. tl;dr buy cookies and cream flavored whey. Defaced 08-06-2009, 11:57 AM It also depends a lot on what brand you are using. Protein mixes were not all created equal. dubs 08-06-2009, 11:58 AM Does it matter if it doesn't mix well? I just drink it anyways. Rayn 08-06-2009, 12:01 PM i drink mine chunky cause i am too cheap to buy something and too lazy to clean something besides the cup its in. SL83 08-06-2009, 12:35 PM also, I've been told you shouldn't mix your whey with milk, but with water after your workout, because milk takes a while to digest and negates post workout nutrition This is stupid. You need sugar mainly right after a workout - not protein. MistaKe 08-06-2009, 12:59 PM It also depends a lot on what brand you are using. Protein mixes were not all created equal. Very true. This is the brand I've been drinking.. GNC Pro PerformanceŽ AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Cookies & Cream - GNC PRO PERFORMANCE - GNC (http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=35099 55) Falhawk 08-06-2009, 04:05 PM i use this http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/4831645/EAS-powder-chocolate-main_Full.jpg Trinston 08-06-2009, 08:32 PM I get that brand from Sam's Club since it is a pretty good deal, I just down a scoop with water after a workout. In the morning I always make a shake for breakfast, I'm not sure if it is enough calorie wise but I never know what else to have with it and I'm usually in a rush and drink it on my way to work. 2 scoops protein, 1 cup of milk, a banana and some berries. I have a blender though confidential 08-07-2009, 05:12 AM look online falhawk, you'll find something a lot cheaper than EAS stuff. Pretty much everyone likes ON, I use ON Chocolate and they have it at GNC/Smoothie King here. But it's probably cheaper to buy online Bodybuilding.com - Optimum 100% Whey Protein - With Faster-Acting HYDROWHEY! On sale now! (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html) I'm sure you'll get some other links too Also I like to use a blender for my shakes, I tried shakers and everything else but nothing makes it blend nicely and taste good as a blender. And you can throw in other shit with a blender too. Some people are lazy and don't like to clean though, but it doesn't take that long to clean. You could also get this 5 dollar thing, people on here said it's good but I ahven't used it: Bodybuilding.com - Blender Bottle Blender Bottle - Function And Style! On sale now! (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/blenderbottle/blenderbottle.html) Falhawk 08-07-2009, 09:56 AM I get that brand from Sam's Club since it is a pretty good deal, I just down a scoop with water after a workout. yep that's where I got it. $27 for 5 pounds seems to be the best deal I've found. Glare 08-07-2009, 02:10 PM ON used to be about $29 for 5 lbs it got pretty expensive MrSmall 08-07-2009, 11:31 PM This is stupid. You need sugar mainly right after a workout - not protein. you're stupid the point was mainly to have water with his protein instead of milk, I figured it was obvious he should also be mixing sugars like dextrose and maltodextrin | ||
