Ok so here's the stituation. In this terrible drawing, the door and stairs to my loft are on the left. The ceiling is too low in the area just inside the door to get the couch into the stairwell, believe me, we twisted and turned and flipped and pushed every way possible. So unless there's some magic math that will allow me to get that couch in the door or unless I can just magically collapse the couch, it's not going up the stairs.

The windows are big enough that I could fit it through there but it's a good 20 feet off the ground and I have NEVER even thought about lifting something through a window. The couch is also light enough. Anyone done this before? Got any ideas? Just get a board and throw some ropes around it and what not and just lift? Any tips?

What the **** do I do?

P.S. The place is actually that ****ty yellow color but kicks ass inside.

I did this once in college. Get 2 friends and three pieces of rope. Two guys pull the couch up into the window, the third pulls on a rope to keep the couch from dragging on the side of the house. The best part is at the end when you move out and you just throw the couch out.

The person pulling the rope just stands on the ground and pulls outward? Thats what I'd originally guessed we could do but figured I'd do that and then someone would be like 'oh you could just do this and it'd be a thousand times easier' and then I'd be like well **** I'm a dumb *******.

take a bunch of viagra, get a huge boner, and use that to hoist the couch

unless you're not like me and don't have a 20 foot cock

Well, if you have the third person up off the ground on an apartment balcony across way or in a tree or something, it will make it a bit easier. Otherwise, when the couch is nearly at the top, he'll be pulling it more down then out. Make sure you have plenty of rope for the guy on the ground so he can stand a ways back.

Good point but unfortunately theres no where to get up onto when we do it. There's a canopy thing on the bottom so if the person is able to pull it outward enough before he starts pulling it more downwards then we can get over the canopy and see how far we can go and then we can just let it slide against the wall because its concrete and the couch bottom is probably soft enough since the legs remove that we can slide it.

Guess we'll see.

Is the couch JUST a little too big to fit through the doorway? Maybe take the door off its hinges. Or even the door/post. That's what I've had to do before. And it's a lot better than this idea.

No, we got it so that if we had another 8 inches it could fit but 8 inches isn't gonna be the door or whatever.

why can't you take the couch in the same way you get upstairs

just cut it in half and then put a blanket in the middle. no one will ever know
