And today when I went to go put them on, I noticed two of them were clearly marked as the same gauge...fuckers left out the D string and put two A strings in there.

What is this bullshit, DR? Whatchu tryin to pull.

Now I have to go back to guitar center :\

Also: I have a show tonight.

$3 cover? Does that at least get you a beer after the door split?

I doubt we're getting paid anything for this show...just playin it because one of the other bands remembered us and asked us to.

oh yeah the point of this thread...

Anyone else ever get the wrong strings straight out of the package?

I've never had that happen to me.

DR makes fucking awesome strings. I started using their guitar strings after I tried a set of their bass Hi-Beams. When I found out they were making a lite-top/heavy-bottom set, I bought in. They're expensive and worth every penny.

But since a REAL HUMAN stuffs your strings into each box, it's prone to human error, I guess.

Pro tip: Don't change bass strings the day of a show. You sound like you're playing a piano up there. Let them settle and gather hand oil for at least a week or two.

Yeah I was using Hi Beams, but I broke a string yesterday :\

So I got the Marcus Miller Fat Beams, which sound awesome...was gunna put them on early in the day and try to wear them in a bit before the show...but then I had to go return them n shit.

For the record, they sounded excellent considering they'd only been on for like 2 hours. Better than the High Beams I had on there before.

Oh yeah, Animism, band members got free draft beer all night. And some stranger bought me a shot of Jameson for being so awesome.

Worth it then, I suppose? Good score on the Jameson.

Just write a nice letter to the manufacturer and see what happens.
Maybe a free set of strings?

Thats an odd occurance. I loved the old DR strings but we had a run of bad luck where the winding would go loose on the core and spring back and forth. It wasn't tight to the core like most other strings... I know they are wound slower and supposedly tighter but these were loose and stretched out over time to where the core became exposed in a couple areas.
