Anyone have any idea what I can do with a bunch of figs?

I have a fig tree in my back yard that is absolutely huge and a lot of them are ripe right now. I could seriously pick over a thousand if I really wanted to.

I however have no fucking clue what to use them for. They are very sweet and good to eat straight off the tree but that gets old.

Any kind of pie recipes or cake or special meat marinades I can make with them?

Anything?

Of course I'll look some shit up online but I was wondering if any members here have a good recipe they are willing to share.

Dry them to preserve them? I have no idea but I love dried figs and cheese.

I think I'm going to make a bunch of jam to start off with.

Alton Brown had an episode on how you can dry fruit using a fan and some furnace filters. You might be able to find a description online.

I would make fig jam to start off with - no brainer.

I would also make some fig tarts which are amazing, paired with a thin layer of marzipan at the bottom...mmm

I was in the back yard and i noticed a huge branch of my neighbors fig tree is growing over my fence. So im gonna pick those bitches on my side and do something with em... what to do i have no idea so this is GREAT!!!!

they are not ripe yet so i got some time.

add just a TOUCH of cinnamon to the jam if you make it - that and brown sugar really bring out a figs flavour.

just a tiny bit mind you.
