I started a group to see interest. If we get enough maybe we can convince henry to give us a night for some highlander fun.
Steam Community :: Group :: TW TF2 Highlander Pick Ups (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/twtf2highlander)
Highlander Rules:
There can be only 1 (of each class). 9 on 9.
How teams will be determined (If I am running the game):
Everyone starts in observer.
I put 9 pieces of paper in a hat: 1 = Scout, 2 = Soldier, so on.
First class picked is the captain of that team. Players type in chat if they want to be that class/captain. Admin picks the captains for each team.
After the captain is picked, we continue going through the hat selecting classes. Players type in to say what class they want to play. Each captain picks one player from the group. I flip a coin determining the first player picked team. Heads is red, tails is blue. Second player picked goes to remaining team.
After all 9 classes have been picked. Match starts.
People not picked remain in observer as alternates to each team. In case of connection issues they each pick a class to fill in that round for.
It keeps the game fairly even by mixing up the players the captains pick.
How I keep alternates in the server but not in the round in the game:
To keep people from being continuously picked for certain classes; if you play a round as a class, you have to sit out the next round as that class. People in observer get first priority for the next game, if they want to play a certain class they get enter automatically into the next round.
Disclaimer:
It takes time to set up teams, so have patience. If you join a team before being picked, if you join a team while a game is in progress, if you play any class other then what you were picked for: you forfeit your spot on the server for someone that will listen.
