went to an audition tonight

A local band asked me to come jam with them on bass. So I learned the songs on their Myspace and went over. The singer was a complete dick, but the percussionist was a total sweetheart. I will be inviting her to come jam with my band :)

What an uncomfortable time, though. It was just a pain in the ass getting through the time I had set aside. I'm used to playing with people who are way, way, WAY better at music than I am, and the guitarist/singer was...man, I hate to be negative but he was not to the level I am used to playing with and I was not impressed.

If they ask me to join I will have to somehow decline. I will use the "I don't have enough time to commit since you guys are so good and so serious" excuse.

Dude was trying to convince me that they might have a supporting act slot for the White Stripes. Do I look like I'm 18? Wait, don't answer that.

I did not get a callback from this individual. That's good, because I am going to steal his percussionist whom he does not deserve.

Don't tell them they are good, just tell them you're not interested.
