[Guitar] [New] Help me decide

I've been in the market for a new guitar for a while and I've finally narrowed it down. My ultimate goal is to some day own one of my favorite body styles (V, Les Paul, etc.). Next on my list is a V, and I've narrowed it down to two.

Ibanez VBT700
Gibson Faded V

I've played both, and I liked both, but for the life of me I can't decide which one to buy. I know some will say "ITS A GIBSON WTF" and "IBANEZ LOL JAP GUITAR" but they both played very well.

So someone with more knowledge than me tell me which one of these I should be getting next.

I would say not go with the gibson V's, the ones I have played felt like they were made of balsa.

I like the faded Vs.
They are mahogany - body and neck.
Rosewood fingerboard.
496R and 500T pickups.
Nice guitar.

The Faded V is a higher quality guitar. There are some lemons, though. I would play one before dropping the coin on one. The good news is that they're on sale everywhere.

Yeah, I'm starting to lean more towards that one. I played one at Guitar Center the other day and loved it, but they had the new pricing of $950 on it (I can remember when they were brand new for like $650). There is another store a couple hours away that has one pretty cheap, so I'm really thinking about heading up there and checking it out. I figured I can talk them down a little too, haha.

The Ibanez model is discontinued so its getting harder to find those. If I remember right, that store also has one in stock though, so I'll likely just have to sit down with both and see which one I like more. But right now, I think it may end up being the Gibson.

So I went to a guitar store today and played both guitars. Both of them had qualities I liked, but in the end I chose to go with the Ibanez V. It had been a while since I had played one, but after playing this one again today, I loved it. Not to knock the Gibson at all, but the Ibanez just felt better to me. The neck was thinner, which I tend to like a little more, and when I picked it up, I played like I had owned the guitar for a year already. I still suck, but you get the drift.

I got a great deal on it, considering they are discontinued now. Also came with a coffin case, and man, that fucking thing is huge.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts and opinions though. Happy playing :)

Cool, man. Whatever inspires you to play is probably the right instrument.

It's cool to see a girl play guitar, but that's so fucking sterile it makes me sick.
