updated from a really old ampeg 4x12 that i bought from GC like 10 years to this (sry for shitty cell pic):

it's the rectfier cab (see here (http://mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Guitar%20Cabinets/RECTOcabs/Recto4x12SDsl-LG.htm) for more details). i didn't think a cab would make that much of a difference. went from 16ohm to 8, so i'm sure thats is part of it. the lows are so fucking tight and punchy now, i'm amazed at the difference. very happy with the upgrade.

oh, and going into the head from:

made my own pedal board to, i need to get some pics of it. i'm pretty proud of it :]

Nice cabinet! I'm in the market myself. I'd love to get a Marshall 1960A but damn they're expensive.

Got mine used for $350 used 10 years ago.
The lows will definitely be tighter with a mesa cab, they are just built better.

But honestly I'd only suggest buying a avatar cab, from Avatar Speakers (http://www.avatarspeakers.com)

If you wanted real tight and punchy you should have tried the Stiletto Cab instead of the Rectifer. I have a 2x12 myself and a 4x12 older crate (when they were actually made well that I plan on replacing with a Mills Acoustics 4x12..best cabs on the planet.

naw, i want more lows. it's tight and punchy compared to my old cab, but really my goal was more low end. from what i've heard with my own ears, and what i've read, for my sound, the rec cab is #1.
