i've had this thing (casio wk 500) for 3 weeks, have played it for no more than 10 - 15 hours, and i've been noticing the some of the keys make a discernible clicking sound - and it seems to be the keys I'm using the most. and unless i turn the volume up all the way, i hear them while playing and it's annoying. is this normal for electronic keyboards? or did i just get a shitty one? is casio known for this? i know it's no where near top (or middle) of the line at $300, but I still expected better quality.

i know it's going to make a sound, they all made sounds on day 1. but the keys i've been using the most have begun making a different sound. almost like they're coming loose or they're scraping against something they weren't when i first got it.

Thats synth action keys for you. There's a spring that pushes the keys back up and that is what that click is.

:/ so that's only gonna get worse with time it seems. fuck. i'd be ok if i had 100+ hours on this thing, not 10.

You need to get a keyboard with weighted action, problem is they are pretty expensive. U can get a used Alesis qs 8.1 or 8.2 on Ebay for like 400 bucks, but then you need an amp too.

if the keys are made to "bounce" they won't do the clicking thing. otherwise they will click. its pretty much standard
