zorro 04-18-2009, 04:26 PM LABYRINTH (NEW SONGS!!!) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads (http://www.myspace.com/labyrinthshred)
this is just a couple songs that they were recorded and mixed professionally. It's pretty fucking hardcore shit. I'm really impressed at how well the quality is. Their drummer fucking nailed it and their vocalist really surprised everyone. He as initially considered the weakest part of the band but isn't now.
real feedback would be nice. None of the "God this music sounds like shit" I don't really enjoy this genre of music but I do know that it is pretty good and for as young as they are they have a bright future.
I played with them while they were looking for a new guitarist and had fun while it lasted. i just couldn't get into the style of music.
Anyway some technical feedback would be nice so I can relay it to them
thanks guys
Stilgar 04-18-2009, 06:23 PM If they are trying to sound like the Devil in The Exorcist they are good.
Otherwise, too jewy for me.

zorro 04-18-2009, 07:45 PM did you snicker to yourself after that comment
btw my brother plays lead and had to record bass since their bass player was kicked out do to heroin use.
Benzer 04-18-2009, 09:51 PM It might be my speakers but I can't hear a bass in there.

I agree. Otherwise, they sound very tight, must practice a lot. Also, I can't pick out a single word in the lyrics - although I suppose this is by design. So, good job?

i'll never undertand the lyrics/screamer. I like everything else.
Boomerman 04-19-2009, 01:43 AM Well I made it 15 seconds into the first song.
With respect i'll decline to comment further.
travelyan 04-19-2009, 02:05 AM i'm a firm believer that music should have melody and groove
this is not music, this is noise. fucking incomprehensible noise. i can't distinguish a beat, a melody, or any lyrics. why is this a genre.
that being said, in THIS STYLE of WHATEVER the hell kind of music this is? sounds like they're nailing it. so kudos.

Translation: GET OFF MY LAWN!
AniMisM 04-20-2009, 10:39 AM Some talent there for sure. I think this type of music would sound a lot better without vocals, but to each their own.
old_skul 04-21-2009, 10:45 AM LOL.
I just listened to the tune.
Shit like that just leaves me speechless. I have no idea where people come up with music like this. Is there a bass in there somewhere? The drums seem like random blast beats with cymbals just thrown on...and the vocals.....
The guitars actually seem pretty normal.
But I have to agree with Trav...GET OFF MY LAWN!
old_skul 04-21-2009, 10:47 AM Oh, and technical feedback: Very nicely recorded, great production. My only bitch is that I have trouble hearing the bass. The guitar work is excellent.

That's all the drumming ever is in this kind of music. Give me something tasteful and listenable or creative any day over pure speed / noise
It's kind of funny, a guy who was on a CoD team a while back defended this kind of music whenever i gave him shit about it, but he didn't know anything about music theory and he'd try to just throw random music terms into his defense. I think one time he said "DUDE THEY USE FUCKING TIME SIGNATURES AND SHIT"
I mean I try really fucking hard to be open minded but this genre is the limit for me...if saying "how the fuck can anyone like this shit" makes me a pretentious dickwad, so be it.

this minus the CoD reference. sorry.
assfrags 04-21-2009, 03:17 PM Music does not have to have a groove, melody, pulse, or rythym, music is simply a classifying term for intentional organization of noises, whether that be in 4/4 or no signature.
That being said, I think that shit is unlistenable garbage, it is not even interesting noise.
travelyan 04-22-2009, 12:45 PM i'm just sayin lay off the snare drum

zorro 04-24-2009, 07:01 PM thanks for the feedback.
I'll let them know that you don't like their music. With which they will tell you all to fuck off and post your own shit.
There's also quite a large audience for this genre of music........I didn't know that but there is.
Judging by the kind of music they play, I'm sure they're totally in it to get everyone to like them!
I think it's damn good, although I admittedly am not very familiar with the genre. It's angry, abrasive, and brutal. I've listened to the song a few times now and it was interesting each time. Granted, I can't listen to this stuff very often simply because of how taxing it is to listen to and process.
Limiting music to that which has melody, groove, etc. is pretty arbitrary. There is no debating that this is certainly music. You just don't enjoy it.
travelyan 04-28-2009, 10:12 AM so belching and making turkey calls into a microphone for three minutes could also be called music
