The first comment is gold:

We have an illegal alien for President, but they want to waste time arresting this girl!!!

On a more relevant note:

The idea of charging a minor (or anyone) with taking pictures of themselves is retarded. The whole point of child pornography laws is to prevent the exploitation of a minor. If you're exploiting yourself (and being admittedly stupid about doing it), then what does the law prevent? It was all going to work itself out anyway. The girl's pics would have ended up all over school. She's embarrassed/mortified, and learns her lesson.

Kind of the same argument as "what I put in my body is my own ****ing business."

thats the thing, its the same people who think condoms should be made available in elementary school, because kids are "going to do it anyway"

but OH **** if you take pictures of it, we're going to jail you and label you a sex offender

because thats just not ok

i'm in the 'something needs to be done' because these kids aren't old enough to realize what they're doing.

but, imo, the answer isn't charging them with child pornography....

She wont be charged. The law is intended to protect the victim, she's the victim, so victimless crime.

I forget the legal term.

Congress is already working on a law to ban underage girls from using cameras.

congress should just ban everything, then they could start working on our real problems

I hear california is actually going to ban dark-colored cars? LOL

So... whats your point?

Do nothing? just let stupid ****ing kids take pictures of themselves naked, so that everyone on the internet can see them, even though that wasn't their intention?

Or do you think we should just 'educate' them? Like we do on sex? Like we do on drugs? Last time I checked those 'education' programs are going really well...

If you don't want them to take pics of themselves naked, don't give them a camera.

The way the pics were transferable through Myspace, they should be held responsible aswell with the girl.

Girl's ip gets banned on myspace.
