I'm looking to buy my gf an acoustic guitar. She's a complete beginner. I'd like to stay under $300-400 if possible. Any suggestions?

Yep, Yamaha and Takamine are great. My wifey plays a Tak - she bought it herself when she was playing solo shows.

I know Alvarez makes some good lower end acoustics.

In Yamaha's what is their best for under $200 bucks? I still might buy used from someone assuming I can try it out before I buy it, but I'm a little worried I might get screwed buyin used.
