Winter NAMM is going on, have you seen anything interesting or cool you might want to pick up?

Cant find much coverage on it right now. Looks like Tama added a new snare to the Warlord collection. If I ever have some extra cash I'd love to get one. Nothing big with Paiste as far as I can tell.

if they have any footage on their website or youtube check out my old student marc rizzo. he is the current guitarist for soulfly and sepultura\cavalera conspiracy.

he is there doing stuff for peavey (he's endorsed) and probably boss as well (also endorsed).

I have the full Ableton 7 Suite and I also own MAXMSP 5. I cannot wait to be able to finally program MAXMSP inside Live.

I can finally rewrite my monome software to make full use of Live's API.

So tell me Marcos, what the fuck do you do with all that shit? I read up a bit on ableton and max etc...Do you actually make full musical compositions with all that digitally processed shit or do you just use it as a glorified sequencer to make background tracks so you can play guitar over it.

Post some mp3's of what you have done with all that crap.

With Max MSP I have made:

1) a complete guitar effect rig (Tremelo, Delay, Looping, etc)

2) 32 Step Sequencer with control of 32 CC's fully controlled on my monome:

monome: http://www.coolhunting.com/images/monome.jpg

3) A Live Scratcher like a Korg Kaos Pad with various effects, XY control, audio waveform viewer.

4) Visuals that respond to my piano input

5) Other miscellaneous programs for proof of concept shit...like I will see an article that relates music and math and program it....euclidean beats, shit like that, just a hobby.

I would never use MAXMSP just on it's own...I am always using it with external hardware like my monome, stribe, and nord electric. I love it, took me a few months of tutorials to learn it, but I can do anything I want now. Definetely a cool hobby!

Fucking shitty...
These offers are not valid on educational products or upgrades from older full versions of Ableton Live.

I am excited for MAX/LIVE combo although I am so entrenched in Reaktor that I dont know if I would ever switch. Ive been using Reaktor since version 1. Build all my own shit.

I am most excited about the Akai ACP40 and the NI Maschine. Both of those look awesome. The BPM from MOTU looks cool too.

I am bummed I didnt get any free shit from Ableton but they did send me some coupons I can use towards upgrades. Better than nothing.

cool shit- when ableton gave everyone operator and drum machines free, that lowers your suite upgrade price by a couple hundred, from what I can tell. (since suite is just all the instruments, if you already own a couple it lowers the price.)

So now the upgrade to suite is only like 309 instead of the 570 or whatever it used to be.

With live 8 upgrade costing 200, might as well just go for it..
