Spec Affliction, stack +shadow and +spellpower gear, DoT the fuck out of things, repeat until 70.

After 70 I dunno, but Affliction is one of the main ones to do while leveling. But I'm sure some Demo people will probably contest it. But I did Affliction all the way and I'm around 48 and it's pretty stupid how quickly/easily you can kill shit.

I'm at 70 with my lock alt, got Belt of Blasting, Spellstrike Hood/Pants and Frozen Shadoweave set. I'm at 89 hit atm with 2 +4spelldmg+4hit in my shoulders, rest is +9 spelldmg. About 952 shadow dmg or something. Am I better of resocketing for hit (+4spelldmg+4hit gems in my other gear) or should I just keep accumulating items with +hit on them?

If you really want to get fancy you can do 2 - 3 mobs at a time, DoT them up and fear them and they usually get back to you around 50% health. 3 maybe tricky though, with diminishing returns on fears and what not.

Just spec SL/SL and battleground until you have enough resil to comfortably arena. IMO the most fun way to gear, but not exactly the best if you wanna raid ;f

It can be pretty fun. Hell when I was starting a lil' gnome warlock by lvl 7 I was fearing shit for the sole purpose they'd bring back more mobs because I didn't want to really move. Worked pretty well juggling 3 - 4 mobs. Gotta keep tabs on your fear targets though to keep from having diminishing returns bite you in the ass.

There are no diminishing returns with fear in PVE.
The chance of fear breaking early with nobody doing anything to the mob is very low. It will break early if people nuke the mob - hard.

depends if your are raiding. If you aren't, you don't need too much spell hit, but if you are fighting bosses you need to work towards 203 spell hit without sacraficing too much spell dmg.

I think he was referring primarily to the diminishing returns bit.

They are right, Feannag. There are no diminishing returns in PVE.

Not to mention the fact that I'm pretty sure warlocks don't get fear until level 8. Everything you say is wrong.
