What in the holy fuck is the equation for travel distance? There can't be any sort of reasonable geometric equation being used here.

Each square is 10 minutes, you can't go through mastiffs or forests.

It is based on speed.

Speed = The number of squares traveled in an hour.

My Ponchos have a speed of 6, and it takes them 10 minutes to get through onw square.

I did some calculations with 1 of my archers...

1x0 - 1.0 F
1x2 - 1.65 F
3x3 - 4.0 F
4x4 - 6.0 F
6x6 - 8.0 F

Did I fail geometry or did they?

what is F?

archers move 7 units of distance per hour. (least it appears thats what speed relates to, 7 tiles per hour)

distance formula:

sqrt((x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2))

time to travel

sqrt((x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2))/speed = time in hours

so for archers
1x0 = 1/7 = ~8.6 mins
1x2 = sqrt5 / 7 * 60 = 19.17 mins
3x3 = sqrt18 / 7 * 60 = 36.36 mins
4x4 = sqrt32 / 7 * 60 = 48.5 mins
6x6 = sqrt72 / 7 * 60 = 72.73 mins

This all based on my lone archer.

Straight line
0x1 field in 8:34 or 514 seconds
0x3 fields in 25:42 or 1542 seconds

Diagonal
1x2 fields in 17:08 or 1028 seconds - should take 1149 seconds
1x3 fields in 25:42 or 1542 seconds - should take 1625 seconds

hmm i dunno then... get another data point or two :P
1x2 = 90% expected time
1x3 = 95% expected time

attacking squares that are 2x4 and 4x4 away yielded the same trip time O_o
all units with 7 speed. may have to do with not being able to travel through other villages or something

34:16 duration... should be around 38 and 48mins. i am lost :P

they calculate distance, and then they round, and then they calculate traveling time

EDIT: oh and obstacles don't have any effect on traveling time

thats so absolutely retarded :rofl:

Every village around me gives me the correct time if I take obstacles into account.

You're miscalculating then

yea you are right, if you round the result of the distance formula, then calculate time, it seems to work out every time.
