(terrible terrible exercise. I've never seen anybody who did shrugs who had traps anywhere near the size of mine from deadlifting)

and I bet he still puts way more emphasis on deadlifts for traps than shrugs.

yeah he is juiced out of his mind and deadlifts shitloads of weight

i just think calling shrugs a "terrible terrible exercise" is a bit excessive

up row and shrugs are trap primary but still alot of shoulder involvement

I do them on shoulder day as well.

upright row isn't trap primary, it is lateral deltoid primary

yes, i've done shrugs for a long time and my traps are well developed

problem is most people have bad form (poor posture, not raising shoulders high enough) and don't do enough weight

shrugs are an isolation movement while deadlift is a compound movement, you can't really compare the two
