with WoW dominating most of my gaming time for the majority of its release, i wasn't competitively playing any games to miss the downfall of CAL, ESWC, and finally, CPL. as far as tournaments go, CGS is the top dog right now. the 360 really only has MLG gamebattles left, since CAL seemingly dropped all their 360 games (pretty much only gears) and focuses on PC gaming.
the way CGS works is interesting, with teams being drafted and everything. i vaguely knew about CGS in 2007, but only have been recently following it since the draft picks of 2008
the game selection is pretty weird though, i know there isn't another fps being played other than CS;S to keep the game variety different, but it really cripples the 2 360 games being played... forza and DoA? come the fuck on.. both are boring to watch for me
it's a shame that a game like gears or halo can't be played in place of one of those 360 games, or for the same of team size, eliminate forza AND DoA and replace it with one of the top fps' from 360. gears and halo played at the highest level are WAY more exciting to watch than DoA and forza
