HypnosisFX 05-13-2008, 05:47 AM 1.2 Fort- Cause i like the CTF concept and the fact that your team needs to play together and not 1 man army style to cap on this map. A good team can rape any defense if they work together.
2.Goldrush- Cause it reminds me of that one map on RTCW:ET were you have to take the rail car to the objective to win the map, also good map for racking up Engineer Sentry kills
3.Dustbowl- One of the hardest maps to defend points in if the other team is playing well, also like the differant stage's on this map too.
HaPpY 05-13-2008, 05:55 AM 2fort, 2fort, 2fort
fuck the 2fort haters... l2p. i like other maps as well but play this one 90% of the time :p:

Thats absolutely not true. Try playing it in comp. A good defense will pwn any offense. Any defenders you kill will respawn and block your exit before you can escape with the intel. Only way to beat that is to split up and spawn camp. Any map that forces spawn camping to win is a pretty terrible map imo.
1.) Gravelpit
2.) Badlands
3.) Pretty much a tie between Dustbowl, Granary, and Well
scandal 05-13-2008, 12:23 PM 1. Dustbowl: Usually fun on both offense and defense.
2. Gravelpit
3. Well (CP)
Goldrush is fun but too frustrating sometimes. I hate 2Fort because everyone basically considers it a deathmatch and it goes 90 minutes without a cap. I really feel that for a CTF map to work, the flag needs to be more out in the open.
John the Jammer 05-13-2008, 10:57 PM dustbowl
well
gravelpit
im not explaining why
Gravelpit
Dustbowl
???
Profit
Like gravelpit because it's pretty big and players have more options about what they can do. Dustbowl because it's another good offense/defense map. I have the maps that go back and forth.
Can't really decide anything after that.
Gmankuza 05-14-2008, 01:56 AM Goldrush
Dustbowl
Mach4
We just played our first league match on Goldrush tonight and stomped the other team. Most fun I've had in a while.
I like mach4 because it's the same as 2fort but without the suck. I even like Turbine and Impact more then 2fort.
Dustbowl is just an awesome map. I like GravelPit as well but Dust just beats it.
HypnosisFX 05-14-2008, 05:18 AM Yeah Mach4 is nice i need to play that map a bit more.
1) dustbowl and gravelpit -- dustbowl: lots of well-timed coordination is necessary to win this map. there are many quirks that give players who know about them an extra advantage, which is preferable to more simple map designs that lack these subtleties e.g. lazytown. gravelpit: fighting can switch back and forth from ground to roof-top battles, and the constant change in the flow of the game that happens when there are even semi-balanced teams is very exciting. similar to dustbowl, there are lots niches to be discovered which allow for evolving strategy.
3) badlands -- momentum on this map can change very quickly, which forces good players to continually be aware of many variables. every class on this map can be effective (even pyros), which helps keep pubs fresh and enjoyable for everyone. like dustbowl and gravelpit, an experienced player has an extra advantage over his opponents due to refined design.
Electricity 05-14-2008, 04:31 PM 1)Granary - in competition it's the best bay-be
2)Well - Just like Granary but a bit slower, more time to set coordinated attacks
3)Gravelpit
But in pubs I like to play Gravelpit, Goldrush, Granary in that order.
EssexLord 05-14-2008, 06:04 PM Interesting that very few customs have been mentioned.
Goldrush is badass (although novelty hasen't worn off for me), Mach4 because it's a really nice quick CTF map, and Gravelpit because of the variety.
Spookious1 05-17-2008, 01:37 AM 1.) Dustbowl
2.) Hydro (pubs only)
3.) Gravel Pit
MonkeyHero 05-17-2008, 12:03 PM Dustbowl, Gravel Pit, Granary.
freight_train 05-17-2008, 02:35 PM 1) Hydro
2) 2FORT
3) warpath
SexxxGodSteve 05-28-2008, 02:44 AM hydro, granary, well
Grief 05-28-2008, 06:29 PM Mach4 is okay, but it's retardedly easy to cap if you go spy.
Mach4 is okay, but it's retardedly easy to cap if you go spy.
vs poor sentry/d setups, yes
all it takes to stop the llama spy cap is a sentry on the bottom with an engi that is not standing still
Gmankuza 05-29-2008, 06:18 PM I have a pretty insane anti-spy mach4 setep if I do say so myself. Now, the problem is the best spot to counter a spy is not the best spot to counter any medic combo period. Sooo you have to pick your battles.
Hypermax 06-03-2008, 05:30 PM 1) Warpath
2) Badlands
3) Goldrush
