A test video for an onscreen keypress display script written by Lemon. This is the first part of a special "ski training" config I'm trying to put together. This script has been dubbed "ski hero" by bugs_.
I'd be interested to see a video of someone who's really good at skiing using this.

This would've been awesome when cap routes on DX actually meant a shit to anyone here.

I say "ski training" config but what I really plan to use this for is as a tool to try and illustrate some Tribes nuances to people not in the know for a paper I'm writing on fps gameplay mechanics.
But if anyone feels they could benefit from this script/config for practicing skiing or any other reason, then what's the harm in sharing it?

Kinda cool. Kinda useless. ( at least now days )

There's no harm in sharing it - it's really neat, but since the majority of the great cappers have been long retired from any tribes incarnations, I just don't see it being put to good use.

The arrows are screwy. Is that my fault or yours? LOL.

It's my fault. I stole these arrow keys straight from WarSow and when I applied them to your script the layout looked wrong since they're slanted so I just molested your layout variables and eyeballed it until the spacing and whatnot didn't bother me much anymore.

Mayb you can work with this (http://www.hs-furtwangen.de/~bindig/Tribes/TutorialMagic.cs)
Nice idea,
i was working on something similar ages ago. The link above should give you an impression.
My idea was to be able to re-view a demo, and be able to tag situations where a centerprint and a $simgui::timescale change should happen. But that's basicly the same ... just much more information in your case.
It's realized badly way but it worked afaik.
that's a sample tutorial i just found somewhere:
$Bp::tutorial::text1 = "<JC><F2>Textaaaaaaa here(optional)";
$Bp::tutorial::text2 = "<JC><F2>Text aasdasdasl)";
$Bp::tutorial::text3 = "<JC><F2>al)";
$Bp::tutorial::text4 = "<JC><F2>Text hasdasassssssssssssssssss sssssssssssl)";
$Bp::tutorial::text5 = "<JC><F2>Tasdas)";
$Bp::tutorial::text6 = "<JC><F2>Tsnal)";
$Bp::tutorial::text7 = "<JC><F2>This Text Appears for 2 Seconds at very very slow speed";
$Bp::tutorial::text8 = "<JC><F2>Text";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on1 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on2 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on3 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on4 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on5 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on6 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on7 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::textdurati on8 = "2";
$Bp::tutorial::time1 = "3.83299";
$Bp::tutorial::time2 = "21.0929";
$Bp::tutorial::time3 = "32.2239";
$Bp::tutorial::time4 = "33.6219";
$Bp::tutorial::time5 = "38.4779";
$Bp::tutorial::time6 = "39.125";
$Bp::tutorial::time7 = "62.0939";
$Bp::tutorial::time8 = "62.5669";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale1 = "5";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale2 = "1";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale3 = "0.1";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale4 = "1";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale5 = "0.1";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale6 = "1.5";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale7 = "0.01";
$Bp::tutorial::timescale8 = "1";
Since ScriptGL gives you such a nice way to have permanent functioncalls without using the scheduler it should be much easier to realize this. But i guess the ammount of information might be a little but high ;D
P.S: when you try to read *.cs files containing a shitload of variables, tribes might freeze for quite some time. Don't give up to early. Reading and applying 256x256 vars took me minutes already.

Hmmm... thanks for this. This definitely is a good idea. I can think of a few things timestamping demos would be useful for.

I was mainly commenting on the fact that the right arrow is on the left and left on the right. I knew the spacing was wrong but that all depended on what size arrows you used. I guess I could have put each key in its own vhud so they could be moved individually with a vhud mover. I think it looks great! I had fun scripting it and I'm super happy you were able to make use of it.

Yea unfortunately it's a bit late in the day for many things Andrew made possible with the new hudbot. It's been released for a year and people are like "wuts that".
