RedSpider 05-09-2008, 05:24 PM Seems to be a whole lot of crying from people who were not skilled enough or had the social skills to get into a good guild.
Did you seriously just refer to making internet friends as a social skill.
RedSpider 05-09-2008, 05:34 PM i play solo and can't see high end stuff they should make kara and za and ssc soloable just so i can see the content. after all i pay the monthly fee. basically it is an xtreme of what people are saying here but in the end it is what ur saying.
You make a fair argument but:
i play all day and see high end stuff they should make kara and za and ssc harder just so i can say i've seen the content. after all i pay the monthly fee. basically it is an xtreme of what people are saying here but in the end it is what ur saying.
Yeah... I changed like 2 words.

haha. was about to make the same comment.

That's where I stopped paying attention to anything Snaps said in this whole thread.
As far as the change goes... I think it's good. They haven't given any concrete details as to the number of instanced content in WotLK so I think it's a bit premature to assume that they're making a few 5s and no 10s other than toned down 25s and that there will only be 1 or 2.
Blizz is doing what they've always done and that's appeal to the masses. 10 million subscribers can't be wrong is what they're thinking. And they're right. The hardcore raiders are a minority. And blizz will keep them jolly with tons of really nice loot, I guarantee.
I'll bet anyone right now that there won't be a toned down 10-man group doing the final fight vs Arthas who gets [Frostmourne, Runed Blade of the Lich King] as a reward. And believe me, any orange is bragging rights enough.
Smaqaho 05-09-2008, 07:53 PM My only complaint is running a 25man as a main raid only to run the same zone in 10man form as an offnight thing to do. I like the differences between 10 and 25man zones, but if they make it work and somehow it's fun I'm all for it.
Snaps 05-09-2008, 10:12 PM Ya, because MMO's are not a social game, amiriite?
Zomg you play WoW, you CANT have a social life!! Hahahha!!111
Retards.
And on that note, time to go to the bar, since it is a friday, and I have people to SOCIALIZE with. You know, hang out together in the same place, see the same people, do things together....almost like a social connection with them.
the major social skill you need to get into a good guild is not suck and fully and correctly fill out an application
Snaps 05-09-2008, 10:34 PM And don't be a complete douche bag that no one can stand.
Almost like some who is anti-social.
Edit: Really though, I don't even know why I am arguing about it. I am trying to sell my account and won't be around by that time anyways.
Enjoy the ezmode.

omg i want click link get popup, where mai popup! :o
xgalaxy 05-09-2008, 10:54 PM Personally, I always thought 25 man raids was a stupid number. They should have dropped it lower.. to like 20 or even 15 tops. 15 man raids would be infinitely easier to schedule and setup than 25.
Not to mention I feel that 15 coordinated people working together seems more skill based (lol skill in an mmo) than 25 or 40. Less people, the more each individual is important. You just don't get that sense from 25.
Familiar 05-09-2008, 10:59 PM if they drop it to 10 man raiding it could possibly kill the game
I know a lot of people will call me an idiot but so be it...I will try to make a quick argument cause I am not that interested.
1) You can only make 10 man content so hard (just not enough people to allow for huge hitting mobs etc)
2) If they do make it hard people will need a very min/max spec (this means good bye fucking specs like survival for hunters or ret for pallys or anything but resto for shamans etc.)
3) The feeling of accomplishment in 25 mans is just 50000000x higher. I obviously cannot explain the feeling of killing a difficult boss the first time but it is pretty neat.
I think I play this game pretty casual with a raiding schedule of 12 hours a week (this is max hours for learning swp). With badges etc. they have given amazing loot to the super casuals that cannot get out of ssc and want the chance at seeing more end game items. You cannot make the loot the same for 10 man and 25 man. It literally just makes no sense. I am sorry all of you want an instance where you can walk in and clear it in one night and get a lot of purples like za or kara was even in greens, but I don't find that fun.
Terra 05-09-2008, 11:00 PM I think this is stupid.
JuSTCHiLLiN 05-10-2008, 12:14 AM I think blizzard will do what makes them the most money. Since people will already have the expansion the way to maximize money is to keep subscriptions.
Before joining StK on Onyxia I was out of a raiding guild for about 6 months. There's not a lot to do. Making 10 man raids is a great way to keep people "addicted" to gearing their character. In BC there's only so much content you can do before you hit a wall. If you're not in a progressed guild already you're going to spend a long time if you want to see end game content.
Then there's the "wow as a job" problem. Personally, I have a gut feeling that a lot of lives have been ruined or at least seriously harmed by people playing wow too much. If I didnt have such a lax job I would be one of them. Giving a less hard core route is a good choice imo. Although, hard cores will most likely always be hard cores.
Terra 05-10-2008, 12:36 AM This feels a lot like LT WoW.
GeneralHell 05-10-2008, 02:21 AM And don't be a complete douche bag that no one can stand.
You must be right on the edge then. Either way, off you go then.
The Pumpkin King 05-10-2008, 04:36 AM If they make it 10 man, they should make it REALLY fcuking hard.
Making it weenie and easy sucks.
I hate games where you have to field so many damn players though.
If the hardest challenge in a game is gathering enough people to play that's pretty gimp.
It should be easy to field a team, but hard as fuck to win. I'm bias because tribes was the best game ever though and I love 10 man teams.
In my opinion the game's highest level content should be so hard that there is always something that has yet to be beaten or conquered.
Falhawk 05-10-2008, 07:02 AM Are you guys daft? They aren't removing 25 man content.
PoorDoggy 05-10-2008, 07:31 AM I feel more accomplished in a 10man where my effort shows than hiding in the back of a 25 or 40man raid where my presence may not even be noticed by half the raid.
Snaps why aren't you bitching about the reduction from 40 man raids to 25 man raids? Are you merely a hypocrite?
Familiar 05-10-2008, 09:13 AM Because 40 people was just too much. Raiding was so awful with that many people man. Looking back I don't know how we even did it.
