Recruiting a Resto Sham

To be honest, it's been a while since I played, and I was always Alliance (except that short run with you guys) so I never really got a good look at Shamans, so I never really saw what a good resto sham could do. Are they really that important to a raid now? I used to love being the primary healing druid in a raid... but I don't imagine there is such a thing in regards to a shaman.

Like...I don't see how you can raid some of the things in sunwell without at least 2 resto shamans. The healing output from a resto shaman completely dwarfs that of a druid. Not to mention they have the best buff in the entire game.

They are SO massive. The only thing more hacks than chain heal is circle of healing (priests) in the endgame. And you get totems to boot which can be put in ANY group (melee, caster, hunter, healer, even tank).

Chain heals go directly to the individuals most hurt, don't they?

Well, I'm cool with going with your Shaman, if I can pick the name. I'm sure I can figure out how to play it, if you guys are a little patient with me and offer a few tips along the way. Healing is generally a pretty basic concept: Keep people alive. It's getting used to the spells, the totems, the mana management, and all the little nuances that I'll need to get used to. I had that all down as a Druid. Shit, I never ran out of mana. I can work that all out though. A bit of research, some experimentation, and it will be no big deal.

It's totally up to you. A lot of people prefer leveling their own characters - it's an attachment thing, I'm totally cool with it. I don't want you to quit later on thinking "it wasn't my shaman anyway" sort of deal. So it's why I don't like letting people "borrow" the account. I prefer just giving it to you, you pay your own fee, you have full access and control to the account, and you won't have to worry about me knocking you off. But regardless, I still created the character, and if it bothers you, feel free to roll a new one. Either way, yea, it allows character name changes now in account management for 10 bucks. I'd be glad to pay it for ya to get another solid raider.

I don't know the mechanics of it too well. I just know it hits 3 targets. Usually rogues and other melee that get hit while you heal the MT (including my pet) will rove you rong time. Fam should know though.

Btw, just ignore loto. He has access to about 8 people's account in the guild, and more often than not, when you message someone online, it's loto on the account. :D

It was quite painful doing archi without more shams the other night, that I know for sure. :( Tremor totem ftw.

Well, the big thing is you have to know I still have days I can't raid, and sometimes it changes on a weekly basis. Hockey, for me, always comes first, so if I have a game that night I have to pass on the raids. If you're cool with that, then I'll definitely be around when I can.

The attachment thing isn't a big deal for me. It's more of getting used to the feel of the character, and I can probably get a feel for the character much more quickly than I can level it to 70(especially now that I can't devote a bajillion hours a day to the game). I know it sounds weird, but the only thing I get attached to are the spells and the tools the character has. Not the character itself. I could roll another Druid, for example, and not think twice about my old character on Tichondrius, because I dig the spells and the feel of the Druid. So don't sweat me quitting because of any attachment issues. The Shaman sounds like fun. So, does this Shaman dance like a fool, go moo, or have a pig nose?

Yea, but will need you to resto some nights, like I said, similar to how roach plays his druid.

Soj seems content on healing since he's always enjoyed doing it.

We raid Tuesday and Wednesday, roughly 9~12, and Sundays, 9~12.

We probably have about 10-15 consistent raiders that make all 3 days, and some nights, we have a shitload so we have people sitting too (rare - maybe once every 2 weeks).

We don't expect you to be a 100% raider. We're content with 66-75% tbh. What we DO expect is getting NOTIFICATION. We have a signup thing for our raids, and we sort of expect everyone to sign up, regardless of your status, if you want to raid. So if you're unavailable, you sign up as that. If you're not sure, you sign up as in queue, and if you're available, you sign up as available. If that changes, we expect you to let us know you're now unavailable, whether by post or changing your status.

What we have had recently is at 9 PM, someone says to me "I can't come tonight." Then the next night, they don't show up again, without giving me a reason at all, and I'm putting together some out of whack raid. That's what usually gets me pissed off. The other problem we've had is people going afk for 30 fucking minutes without logging off so I can't even drop you from the raid to pick someone else up.

In short: be considerate to your fellow raider is pretty much all I ask.

I'll give you notification. I almost always have a couple of weeks notice on my schedule, and when I don't, it's a couple of days notice. The Sundays are going to be the toughest for me. That is one of the biggest hockey nights for me, but the time is the key. Sometimes my games are at 4pm, and sometimes they are at 10:40pm, so I could just as easily make the raid as miss it, and this season I have a bunch of games during the week, which works out, plus a few Saturday games.

I'm captain of two hockey teams, and I've had to deal with some of the same shit on one of them, so trust me, I know where you're coming from. There's nothing worse than having to play a game with 7 guys, when you have a roster of 13 and a goaltender. I'm not going to put you through that kind of crap, unless there's some kind of emergency that crops up at the last minute, and then you're just going to have to accept it, because, well, it's an emergency. :)

Hmm. Shamans sure don't have much in the way of mana reduction talents. How is their mana efficiency?
