StarZ 05-11-2008, 11:38 AM TourGuide is possibly the best leveling addon ever.
this combined with tomtom/lightheaded.. i dont know alliance quests at all but this just makes it easy mode, gives you the order to accept/complete quests and auto marks the waypoints for you. thanks Pessi

Decided to give those 2 a whirl just now on a new sham.
Very nice.
ferret 05-12-2008, 08:47 AM I hit 66 the other day on my warrior at 9 days played. That's with my nephew playing for 2 of em probably.
When I leveled my Hunter I ran Outlands instances from 61-69 nonstop. This time I only do it for the quests and its shaving off about 6 hours per level.
PoorDoggy 05-12-2008, 08:51 AM Over the last month I did 1-70 on a mage in 7 days /played, including at least one run in every pre-70 Outland instance.
There are so many quests in Outland it is ridiculous. I did 68-69 in 4 hours with rest and 69-70 in about 5.5 hours.
vempire 05-12-2008, 10:25 AM As has already been said, leveling is stupid easy now. I'm at 45 with my Gnome rogue with 5 days played. Now that may not sound so shit hot, but I've done a serious amount of dorking around with her. Like doing all the low level quests in each area for rep so I can get the Ellek mount (I'm about halfway to Exalted with all the Alliance reps. Over halfway with Exodar and just waiting to hit 50 so I can do the Runecloth turn-ins). As well as spending the time to keep my skills close to maxed: Engineering (286/300), Mining (255/300) Lockpicking (225/225), First Aid (375/375), and Cooking (277/300). So if I hadn't been bothering with all the little crap, I'd probably be 70 or very close to it by now.
Questhelper and Lightheaded are huge benefits, but the best thing to do is just always make sure you've got rested XP.
The Pumpkin King 05-12-2008, 12:46 PM leveling sucks.
I suck at leveling.
Warriors are slow.

My warrior got better in the 60's as prot spec, which is the lolspec for leveling but it seems to work with devastate. I've tried leveling with all three and so far prot is my fave, but wouldn't recommend it until u can get devastate.
The worst thing about a warrior is when you are slowly grinding on a quest, and a hunter/lock shows up and annihilates the place in 5 minutes. However I'll take my end game op'ness over thier leveling op'ness anyday.

Well I'd assume that the same thing applies as with Paly prot grinding. You're going to have to rest after every fight anyway so you might as well kill 4 things at once.

What end game op'ness?
Feannag 05-12-2008, 02:34 PM Seriously, I try to keep tabs on warriors and the stuff I get is more oft than not in end-game druid and pally tanks are preferable in most fights because of their inherent bonuses (more armor, tank multiple mobs, etc.) and even then most warriors seem to fight over a couple of DPS/fury spots in a raid and despite all that you really need to get hit-capped to keep it up.
I loved warriors back in the day (still have my little 63 NE warrior on a Normal realm) but piss all if they weren't (or still are) the most gear-dependent class. Expensive as all hell to keep up with the levels and gear and that's provided you have a well-stocked AH. If you were lacking there you were SOL and had to either use a main to farm for stuff or barring that just slap on whatever marginally useable greens you picked up along the way.

you make baby jesus cry, even he doesnt believe he could create something so ignorant

Oh I'm sorry, did I magically miss a patch where warriors lose their dependency on gear? I'll try playing my 63 one tonight and hit some 65 mobs and see how well it goes.
dude you are talking about gear dependancy on a class u dont even have to 70. stupidity obviously knows no bounds
AdreNaLiNe 05-12-2008, 03:16 PM Feannag, you do realize every tanking class has gear dependancy, right? Paladins are probably the most lacking in terms of itemization, since their threat generation is based on spell damage.
Druids only have dodge, so they require a high level of dodge, though lower defense requirements and less worry about armor.
Warrior's hold aggro (if played properly) better on a single target than other classes. Druids are good for 2 targets, preferable in 5s probably, or 10 mans. Paladins obliterate on many targets, like Hyjal trash. It's 3 different roles for 3 different classes, and you're comparing them without defining the role at all?

 This had to be when the game was new though. I did think the fight was pretty tough going through it the first time!

Because Druids (or Pallys for that matter, but I only have a 70 Druid) don't have any dependency on gear at all AMIRITE?

While levelling, which is what this thread was about, feral didn't seem to be that gear sensitive to me. Obviously, having an up-to-date weapon in particular doesn't provide as much benefit to a feral as it does to a warrior.
He says lots of dumb stuff, but he strung together four or five words that ring true in my experience.

I don't know. Watching Zotch play his feral druid, gear sure seemed to be a problem leveling up too.
