I am 6'1 and weigh ~125 pounds, nothing I seem to eat makes a difference in gaining weight, infact I have lost 10 pounds since december.

I would like to start working out, mostly my chest & arms any suggestions on what to start off with, or things to eat to gain any form of weight really?

I have been taking Muscle Milk and NO2 for about 3 months and have gained about 25lbs and have gone up in lifting in everything exercise.. NO2 is pretty expensive but I noticed that drinking A LOT of water (recommended anyways when using NO2) and eating small before and a big meal after is huge... get your protein..

pretty simple -

1) you are a hard gainer, you need to eat ridiculous amounts of food to put on weight. if you are losing 10 lbs over 4 months that means you are not even eating enough for maintenance.

2) big, compound lifts pack on overall mass best. (squats, deadlifts, press, bench)

do what rayn said

also, don't eat a shitload of junk (pizzas, burgers, etc.)

but do eat a SHIT-LOAD of good food

as a hard gainer myself I had to put away 3500+ calories a day to gain a pound (of muscle) every 2-4 weeks

Senior year of high school, I was 5'11 162, I tore my meniscus right before the biggest tournament of the year. We went on to lose some games I knew I could make a huge difference in, I got somewhat depressed. When I got to college I was 120lbs at 5'11.5.

Eat tons and tons of clean food, squat, deadlift, bench, row, pullups, dips, 3x a week

I'm now 6'1 175.

thanks a lotclean just means low fat (esp. sat fat), low in processed sugars and high in fiber.

oats, bran, fruits, veggies, poultry, soy, lean pork loins, and tuna will all become your friends.

weight gainers can be useful for post-workout nutrition. one that is relatively cheap (compared to BSN & muscletech) is CytoGainer (600cals; no sugar, super low in fat). another option if you're looking for more powder for your buck (and flavor isn't important) is N2-Large.

i used to be much more of a hardgainer, but my metabolism slowed considerably in my early 20s. i'm still not a huge guy, but that's not my prerogative. mentally you'll have better success if you gauge progress not by a reflection in the mirror, but by focusing on moving up in weight in the gym. i made the mistake of wanting to get big before i got strong and wound up being fat, weak and with horrible lifting form to boot.

2) big, compound lifts pack on overall mass best. (squats, deadlifts, press, bench)x2
I would also say that if you have a gym that offers more eccentric training equipment (a climber's pull-up rack with different handgrips, kettlebells, sandbags) to train with those.

Eating clean is good, but since you're a "hardgainer" as they say, you might have to eat some calorie dense junk like a double cheeseburger in order to put on weight.

I'm sure turning to a healthier diet is going to naturally make you want to eat even less calories, and I'd say a high protein/fat food like a burger is better than sitting 300 calories under what you need to be gaining.

edit: my point is someone who sucks at gaining weight will probably complain even more that it's impossible to gain weight when they're eating clean.
