So I can't stand not being able to play GTA IV so I'm planning on buying an XBOX 360 and GTA IV to enjoy a bit this summer.

So first question is: should I buy a refurbished system? I hear all these stories about red rings and whatnot and I don't want to end up with a system that's going to lock-up on me a few months after I buy it.

And second... Where would be the best place to buy? I've found these deals thus far:

$259.99 - Amazon.com: Xbox 360 Console Includes 20GB Hard Drive: Video Games (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Console-20GB-Hard-Drive/dp/B000B43OY4)

$217.99 (Mfg. Refurb.) - CompuVest.US » Product Details. (http://www.compuvest.us/ProductDetails.aspx?Produ ctID=229060)

$267.29 (Brand New, Open Box) - CompuVest.US » Product Details. (http://www.compuvest.us/ProductDetails.aspx?Produ ctID=292867)

$249.99 (Refurb.) - Microsoft - XBOX 360 Premium System Refurbished B4J-00001 at TigerDirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2570726&Sku=M17-4168&SRCCODE=CNETFEED&CMP=OTC-CNETFEED)

What's been the problem? Keep getting red rings or what?

unless money is really an issue, just go get a new elite. it looks better and supports 1080p. if money is an issue, then you shouldn't be getting a 360.

Well first off, I don't have an HDTV so that's probably in the future as well. And second, isn't the 360 Premium capable of all the HD stuff as well? Or does it just not go up as high as 1080p...

I have the premium and it does 1080p.
