My mid life crisis expands...

Wife and kids out of town for month. I upgraded to Leopard and Logic Express 8 about 3 months ago. Just the other day I ordered 2 more gigs of ram and a Amazon.com: Alesis Photon X25 USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller with Audio: Musical Instruments (http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-Photon-X25-Keyboard-Controller/dp/B000BZJ0PA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1209585335&sr=8-1) based upon Turntable Lab's Recommendation (http://www.turntablelab.com/production_tools/84/212/2327.html).

Between 2004-2007 I produced a ridiculous amount of original material while experimenting for the first time with electronic music production (something I wanted to do badly as a kid but could not afford synths), mostly using Garageband (and a virtual Arturia Mini-Moog (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/minimoogV/)).

Logic Express 8 is an insanely badass improvement, in quality and complexity, over GarageBand. In fact, having only achieved amateur proficiency with GB I feel 'in way over my head.' Thus with wife and kids out of town for a month, 2 more gigs of ramsauce for the G5, and a controller (that has a music-making nipple on it), it's time to start the process of hammering my work into shape!

I went shopping yesterday so I don't have to leave the house for the next 2 weeks for anything except work. Stops on the way to or from work are strictly prohibited.

I feel your pain. I just bought a ton of recording shit...Pro tools mbox2, a new computer, monitors, external hard drive, m audio keystation 88, desk and this weekend I'm going looking for an HDTV (mixing+watching tv) around 40 inches for the wall in front of me. Now I can finally record the stuff I've written over the past 5 or 6 years. Needless to say I won't be leaving the house for a while...

I've been using it non stop but, fuck, it takes a load out of the bank account.
