I know that any class will be harder to play with a higher ping. This is obvious.
I'm curious however, which class would be the easiest to play for both PvP and PvE with a 350-600 ping.
I rolled a warrior because all his abilities are instants thinking this would be the easiest class to play with a high ping. Now people are telling me that I will get the "out of range" message all the time when trying to PvP and Tank and it is one of the worst classes to play with a high ping. Is this true?
What class is the least ping dependent?
blood elf affliction warlock. instants have no lag.

Don't play any of the melee classes if you have lag.

Orc but w/e. I've never really had an issue with lag or even thought about it on my warlock, but with the pally/rogue I do notice.

Would I still be able to tank in PvE? Or are we just talking PvP?

there was this instance where i had huge spikes and was trying to druid tank.
its total hell.
if cc breaks and your healers are in trouble, ping will kill your party. its more dependant on your group, if you have a good group, tanking will be a breeze.
holding aggro won't be the problem...picking up loose mobs will be the killer.

for hunters your ping is the deciding factor on how many shots you can string together.
I played with an aus friend for a long long time. he said that pally was the easiest to play with high ping.
Also if you are from aus instead of allowing ping pick your class you might want to check something called "lower ping" or something like that.
affliction warlock or shadow priest
do not play any healing class. you'll be useless with heals that don't start casting until a half second after you've pushed the button, and unable to cancel them later than a second before they're going to finish casting. mage is a poor choice as well for this same reason.

warrior is a very very bad class to play with high ping.
Absolutely can't do shit in arenas when my connection is fucking up...i can be inside of a fucking druid spamming piercing howl and he will just keep on running.
PvE too depending on what you do...for me it's very rough because I do blood frenzy / slam spec. Really impossible to know when your white hits are landing with the lag so your rotation is slow--very similar to the hunter. I can imagine tanking with 300-600 isn't that bad but I haven't been a MT since fucking MC so I can't help you there :P

Well I just tried my warrior in the BG's for the first time and I didn't think it was anywhere near as bad as people are saying it should be. The hamstring was registering really slowly, but other then that I didn't notice myself being rendered useless at all. The spacing was really strange though. Sometimes other warriors charged me and ended up stopping 13 feet away from me as if my body was that far away from where my game was registering.
I would have done a lot better with a lower ping I'm sure, but it wasn't incapacitating or anything like I expected. Maybe it's just cus warriors are powerful? I'm used to playing a glass bb gun mage so I guess it seemed like a huge upgrade.
I found that if I just tried me best to stand directly on top of people as much as possible that I got plenty of swings in. I'm sure I could own more with a warlock, but I don't really feel like playing one. I hate pets.
I'm just gonna stick with my warrior and play through the ping.
