In the past week I have started to play Scout when I am on defence. I usually end up going to their spawn, hiding, then destroy their teleport entrances and generally harass them at their own spawn. The point is to delay them, or soften them up before they reach my other team mates. Ill blast someone a few times, and if they are still up, just run off to get more ammo, health. It's a lot of fun.
aScotiA 04-30-2008, 12:29 AM sounds pretty ineffective and makes you prone to crits. i know as a demoman i'll kill a scout (1 on 1) 9/10 times (without a crit)
i just like playing demo in general
if ur taking a scout 1v1 as a demo 9/10 times ur facing some terrible scouts -- scouts have a big advantage over demomen 1v1 in open and semi-open areas.
i just got 22 of the medic achievements, and now see that there's a console command to unlock them all :|. what a giant fuck up by valve.
HypnosisFX 04-30-2008, 05:15 AM No not realy scouts can be taged real quick no matter the advantage, Ive played against some scouts that are up in the 100's and dominated them quickly. Yeah its turning into a medic fest but once its over regular games will return. we went on a server last night and padded are way to get all of them.
oh, ur right, scoring 100 points in a server is the sign of a good player
esp when one does it on a 24/7 2fort instant respawn map
jotun 04-30-2008, 11:30 AM I've been playing a lot of medic lately (before the patch..)
I've always liked scout a lot, but unfortunately it's garbage in most situations. Scout on Gravelpit defense is awesome until they start building turrets. Goldrush looks like it could allow some good defensive scout play.
Sniper on dustbowl is my guilty pleasure.
Handgun spy if I feel like messing around.
Soldier if I feel like getting serious.

HaPpY 04-30-2008, 06:31 PM i tend to prefer the most strategic and complex classes in any game i play... for tf2 spy is my favorite, but im trying to break into demo some more.

Feannag 05-01-2008, 10:33 AM Scouts are fun, but it seems the double-shotty is really spotty on damage unless you jam the thing up their nose. You really have to know how to double-jump/evade with it though. I got into more than a few scout fights with people, but they end earlier from someone else interfering.

This is my first time trying to view a TF2 recorded demo or whatever so chances are I'm doing something stupid. Any ideas?

A good scout will kill you before you can set two stickies. Against good scouts, your best shot is with two pipes and hope you don't suicide.

They might have broken demo playback in the latest patch. I heard about some problems.
