"If a team does not enter an arena match that is starting they will lose points equal to the amount that would have been deducted if they had played and lost."

Do you know what queue dodging means? It means if you run into a team that you can't beat, then you stop playing for the night.

It always has been if you don't join a match that started you'd lose points.

i will admit to buying points from a "guild" that ran 3 3's teams. they would have all 3 teams queue at the same time and talk to each other on vent. if two teams had the queue pop at the same time then you would join. they would tell you to win or lose. usually you ended up winning 2 and losing 1 or losing 2 and winning 1 depending on which team you ended up on. they had all 3 teams around 1950-2000 every week and just sold points with them, upto 27 total people could buy points in theory. if none of the teams appeared to match up with another one of their teams you would just leave the queue and not lose any rating. they usually did this mid afternoon on sundays

No.

It originally was, but some time ago they changed it so you could just not enter.

Then people had mods showing which arena and instance # they got, so they could queue and only join the map they wanted, or only join if if was a team of their alts on the other side.
