Working out without lifting more than 5 pounds with my arms

Last dec i hurt myself skiing resulting in: Badly broken/displaced proximal humerus in right shoulder, separated right shoulder, fucked up ac joint right shoulder, torn labrum left shoulder.

Since then I've probably gained about 10 pounds of fat and lost a lot of muscle. Doctors don't want me running or doing anything where i can trip and fall on my right shoulder.

They won't let me put more than 5 pounds of weight on either arm

So what are some stuff i can start doing to help me get in better shape in general?

I'm probably gonna use a stationary bike and i can do situps and leg press.

but i cant think of much else

bike. I broke a bone in my elbow 18 months ago and that's what I did. while not as bad as yours I was still able to go hard enough to stay in shape. good luck with your rehab.

I shattered my humerus skiing in jan 07. Once I got full range of motion back I started weight training with 5 lb weights. I also did exercises using rubber ropes and elastic coords tied to doorjams or something.

I would say try some sort of swimming or stationary biking. Maybe eliptical too

It would have to be swimming with a kickboard otherwise you are gonna be putting much more than 5 lb of weight onto your shoulder
