dps warrior vs rogue

What are the advantages to leveling and playing a dps warrior (ms or fury) over a rogue?

i've never played a rogue, they seem fun

I have a fury warrior, he's a lot of fun.

However I do get annoyed at how pigeonholed warriors are due to spec. I can spec prot and tank...but do pretty much nothing else. Fury is fun as hell but 5man groups don't like us and it takes a lot of good gear to make an impact.

Rogues have some CC and stealth is probably nice to have

People call fury warriors "rogues in plate" but I'd almost always prefer a rogue in my group. I leveled my warrior in Outland as fury...it's the same basic meatgrinder mentality that the combat rogue operates under, but without the escape options and stuns.

Personally I'd only roll a warrior to MT or play around with MS in arena, but I know DPS warriors are becoming more accepted in raids. Falhawk is completely right that fury warriors need to be significantly better geared than other specs and classes to perform well.

Warrs and rogues are good at different things.

If you plan to raid, be warned that you may be pressured into offtanking if you go with Warrior, and you may be forced to go arms for Frenzy.

Rogue is pretty straightforward. You spec combat and you hit shit till it dies.

Both are good in PvP, but play differently and are stronger with different comps.

Rogues seem overpopulated so playing a dps warrior is something different that not everyone plays, but that can be bad trying to get in groups.

i do offtank as fury when we run kara (when an offtank is needed)

it sucks only in that my dps is totally gone so I just ignore damage meters but it allows us to progress, then I get to kick ass on maiden

hopefully the death knight will give me what I'm looking for, a more hybrid-esque tank.

Warriors are cool because they dominate rogues

blood orgy ms pve warriors seem to be all the rage these days, even after all teh nerds decided dw fury was the only way to pve.

IMO Warrior is much more fun, but I'm certainly biased.

2h 33/28 with Blood Frenzy is the way to go if you want to raid as a DPS warrior. You offer the same shout as a fury warrior AND 4% extra physical damage to yourself/other warriors, rogues, hunters, druids, and some of enh. shaman's damage. The rotation is much more dynamic and requires some degree of awareness and mental capacity than putting 1 point into Imp. Whirlwind to offset your BT/WW CD's.

Get rid of the fury warrior and bring another rogue.

Fury warriors died when BC came out :(

they really should change blood frenzy to blood orgy
