i've got a laptop that i'm gonna keep @ home cuz i just picked up a new one i will use for travel. i also picked up a time capsule drive (apple's wireless external HD)
caveat: both laptops are macs (i used to be a linux guy)
i'm trying to figure out the best way to keep my work synched on both my laptops AND backed up on the ext drive. my first thought is to rsync all my work files between the laptops, and then run scheduled backups from my home laptop. since time machine (mac's backup app) can run off my home laptop, it also gives me version control. in general i dont think this is a bad idea, but seems a bit tedious, and risks conflicts if i dont religiously rsync whenever i make updates.
is there some "standard" solution to this? or even a commercial software solution? i dont have much exp with this, since i've always used 1 computer.
