Uncle Slappy 04-21-2008, 06:55 PM I know everyone is all about PvE end-game and Arena these days, but what is currently the best BG class for just racking up the kills and honor? When I used to play it seemed like the leaders in honor and kills would usually be druids, shamans, and mages. This might have just been on my server, but druids and shamans seemed to get a lot of kills, and mages AoE seemed to keep them up there as well. I'm sure a lot has changed, so I'm curious what classes are universally considered the top BG classes.
TonyElTigre 04-21-2008, 07:07 PM i would say lock or huntard
StarZ 04-21-2008, 07:23 PM hunter usually, easy to arcane shot someone elses kill. this also works with shamans via shocks or priests with sw:d
A well-played frost mage can destroy a pug BG. Super fun, too.
Synth 04-21-2008, 08:37 PM hunters and locks usually can put out the most damage. Its easier to get kills with mages/ele shaman though. Ele sham can pretty much LB-CL-Shock and they will all hit the target at the same time, so with no crits thats at the very least 4k-4.5k, that will get you easy "steal" kills. Mages have fireblast, any instant spell that can do a lot of damage= easy kills
TheGhost 04-22-2008, 07:34 AM if you roll a class "to play battlegrounds" enjoy getting welfare gladiator gear and then selling the account on the forums like everyone else does
thats a quick way to get bored
It really depends. A warrior with a healbot will destroy in BG's. A warlock spamming seed of corruption in a huge AV battle will rack up insane damage.
Goofy 04-22-2008, 08:20 AM If you're talking about KB's, roll a warrior and charge > execute low HP targets.
Sir Lucius 04-22-2008, 09:14 AM Get four friends and have everyone roll warlocks, and enjoy destroying everything you see.
Falhawk 04-22-2008, 09:15 AM lock rockin beatz
AdreNaLiNe 04-22-2008, 09:24 AM Nothing like a hunter putting out raw damage in the back. I outdps every other class if I play conservatively (stay behind the crowd).
xpdnc 04-22-2008, 09:37 AM Roll a healer and follow around a hunter or warrior in your party.
--chaingun 04-22-2008, 10:29 AM I don't remember the last time I didn't top damage as a warrior in a BG...healer or not. With a healer I can usually double the closest person but without it's still very easy to top the damage because you're often fighting people who are very undergeared.
Granted battlegrounds are often filled with a bunch of pants-on-head retards in season 1, so the competition isn't very stiff.
TonyElTigre 04-22-2008, 12:40 PM if you are geared then a warrior for sure
if you arent then a huntard or lock will rack up the killzorz
Feannag 04-22-2008, 12:47 PM I'd go hunter if it was a choice of hunter or warlock. Warlock's nowadays seem to be more rogue targets now and there's more counters to your stuff (earth shock, kick, counterspell, etc.) when dealing with situations like that. And your pet is usually entirely too situational to be effective all the time. Least as a BM hunter you could still auto-shoot if absolutely necessary and if you're BM and in trouble you just hit Big Red and ride 18 seconds of no-CC killing with your pet.
All the time I still see people in full S3 in BGs and trying to figure out why, unless they want to keep their honor at 50,000 cap just in case Blizz decides to release more gear. That or boredom I suppose.
PessimiStick 04-22-2008, 12:51 PM It's 75,000, and "in case"?
Once again you come through in the clutch.

You realize stuff like earthshock, kick, and counterspell don't affect a warlock unless he's destro in BGs...
Most of lock damage in something like AV is dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot. Shocks only interrupts, CS requires something to be case unless it's improved CS, and kick does absolutely nothing unless the lock is casting something. Stand in the back, and Dot shit up and you won't have to worry about it.
Terra 04-22-2008, 01:04 PM Feannag, stop trying..
Falhawk 04-22-2008, 01:23 PM feannag is the validuz of the WoW forum

I enjoy doing BG's...I do the daily right off the bat and then I build up my marks...I've been doing more lately trying to cap out before S4 but I miss the days when BG's were actually useful so my guild does premades whenever we can.
Plus, it's always fun 1 shotting a priest in greens with a Sword spec / windfury triple crit or something :D
