The Pumpkin King 04-21-2008, 12:22 AM If I plan on rolling a character specifically for healing, which would be
the preferred class? I would want to top the healing charts in raids and pvp.
How is priest survivability? Are things like PW:shield and Psychic Scream and renew enough to keep me alive in pvp?
If a paladin is really kickass can he beat priests in healing?
I would want the best healing possible and I am not considering a shaman or a druid so count those 2 classes out.
I'm also curious, are tanks in greater demand than healers in the end game? Or is it about equal?
AdreNaLiNe 04-21-2008, 12:27 AM Paladin pre-BT. Priest post BT (CoH ftw).
Gear obviously plays a major factor.
Nothing like spamming FOL if you plan on doing 5s and 10s.
RunningWolf 04-21-2008, 12:28 AM Seriously? Priests are by far better healers. I hate being grouped up with healadins. I always end up dying.
AdreNaLiNe 04-21-2008, 12:31 AM Seriously? Priests are by far better healers. I hate being grouped up with healadins. I always end up dying.
Stop grouping with noob healadins then.
Rurouni 04-21-2008, 01:06 AM haven't gotten to BT lvl yet, so i'm kinda ignorant...but isn't CoH poopy? the co-efficient isn't good, or so i heard. what makes CoH shine?
Snaps 04-21-2008, 01:10 AM Roll a Shaman and just spam chain heal.
Blotter 04-21-2008, 01:15 AM CoH is OP at end game for 10/25mans.
priests are more fun IMO, pallys are super effecient tho.
priests are better pvp healers too i think
Priests have way more options in both PvP/raiding.
Nevearion 04-21-2008, 01:51 AM Rho can explain this far better than I considering I don't play right now :X
But from what I understand paladins are good healers but are completely deficient in the area of group heals which is quite important later on. However paladins are still included for buffing obviously.
So both are needed but it seems priests will always win healing meters by a significant margin.
The Pumpkin King 04-21-2008, 02:09 AM Hrmmm... It sounds like priests are better all around, but paladins are maybe better for 5 and 10 mans? So priests are better in the bigger raids because of AOE, but Pali's are more efficient so they are better for smaller raids?
5-10 mans = Pali > Priest
25 mans = Priest > Pali
Something like this?
godswill 04-21-2008, 03:30 AM I have a priest .. i'd rather have a paladin for healing.. but for shadow priesting i stick it out
Osiris 04-21-2008, 05:07 AM Paladin is the best single target healer in the game. If you want to be a MT/OT healer and cleansebot roll paladin.
Defaced 04-21-2008, 07:23 AM I have one of each and I... honestly don't have a strong preference either way.
Now I wish my druid or shaman were 70 because I think either of them would be more fun. I really really want to try having natures swiftness.
buize 04-21-2008, 07:38 AM the good thing about pally healing is you can bind FoL to your mouse wheel and use the free hand to jerk off.
PessimiStick 04-21-2008, 08:18 AM Paladins are better single-target healers.
Priests are more versatile in PvP (Paladins are pretty weak in smaller brackets, comparatively).
Both are good in 5s, both are useful for raiding, and both have a DPS offspec that you can raid with.
Paladins can also go prot.
I'd go with Priest, if it were me.
Fitty 04-21-2008, 08:30 AM I have both and I prefer the priest for healing but pals can be clutch in certain situations.
DeadlyRabbit 04-21-2008, 09:01 AM I always found my priest better in 5 mans because after I got prayer of mending I had to drink 2 times during most instances, and that was only after buffing, and the priest was able to save a team when things when bad easier then a paly trying to healing everyone in the team.
Familiar 04-21-2008, 10:07 AM Not having to worry about mana would be neat :(
Terra 04-21-2008, 10:12 AM Seriously? Priests are by far better healers. I hate being grouped up with healadins. I always end up dying.
