roll a paladin if you want to heal with one hand and eat with another
Heals: Priest or Pali?dibs 04-21-2008, 11:26 AM roll a paladin if you want to heal with one hand and eat with another --chaingun 04-21-2008, 11:41 AM Yes, because PvEing on anything but a paladin requires unwavering focus and superhuman levels of awareness. I think both paladin and priest have their places in both PvP and PvE. As others have said, it just depends on your playstyle and who you are playing with. Both classes are viable in most arenas (Pally in 2v2 and 3v3 is a bit scarce but there are combos that work) and both have their roles in raids. I've played 2 end game paladins, so I would tend to lean to priest...I don't think any healer is tough to play in PvE but Paladin is just beyond mundane. -Serenity 04-21-2008, 11:46 AM Druids are the best healers. Newbs! AdreNaLiNe 04-21-2008, 12:13 PM Hrmmm... It sounds like priests are better all around, but paladins are maybe better for 5 and 10 mans? So priests are better in the bigger raids because of AOE, but Pali's are more efficient so they are better for smaller raids? 5-10 mans = Pali > Priest 25 mans = Priest > Pali Something like this? We run 1-2 priests per raid, and 2-3 paladins per raid. Paladins have the extra benefit of another paladin buff, whereas priests don't. Are priests overall better? In short fights for PvP, in AOE damage heavy fights in PvE. Priests are not necessary better healers than paladins in arena. They are better for 2s/3s (more controlled fights), whereas palys are better for endurance (5s typically). In 10s and 25s, paladins will be more efficient and better for single target healing. In BT or any fight with heavy AOE, CoH is better. Not one is really better than the other. Their roles are different. Rho 04-21-2008, 12:22 PM Whichever one you choose, level alchemy for Redeemer's Alchemist Stone - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35750) cause it's stupid good. samUwell 04-21-2008, 01:18 PM in a five man, either of them will work great. when you get into 10man or larger, pallys should be main tank healing while the priest moves to group heals, helping the pally heal the tank when needed. Familiar 04-21-2008, 02:05 PM lol The basis of what he said is true. Priests are 500x the healer paladins are. Terra 04-21-2008, 02:22 PM The basis of what he said is true. Priests are 500x the healer paladins are. I was lol'ing at the part where he says that he always ends up dying if the paladin is healing the group. The other part is debatable. Goofy 04-21-2008, 02:27 PM Chain heal pew pew. Shoddy 04-21-2008, 03:08 PM I gotta think priest healing is more interesting than pally healing. Priest has two or three ranks of greater heal, flash heal, renew, prayer of mending, shield, binding heal, prayer of healing, circle of healing, desparate prayer. Pally has multiple ranks of flash of light, holy light, lay on hands, DI and a few blessings of interest. Blotter 04-21-2008, 03:12 PM I gotta think priest healing is more interesting than pally healing. without a doubt xpdnc 04-21-2008, 04:22 PM Whichever one you choose, level alchemy for Redeemer's Alchemist Stone - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35750) cause it's stupid good. It's tempting to drop Blacksmithing on my shaman (I leveled Enh...got Drakefist Hammer) for alchemy for this. 2bad4u 04-21-2008, 05:05 PM A lot of paladins I know simply hate the class. It isnt a very exciting class. Priests get all kinds of goodies to play around with, ability and spec wise. The monotony of paladin healing has driven quite a few of my friends away from the class. TheGhost 04-21-2008, 06:45 PM its really hard to run out of mana as a priest if you have the gear to back it up 700+mp5 when you stop casting for 5 seconds = awesome Smaqaho 04-21-2008, 07:05 PM Priests have far too many ways to effectively heal to be a boring class to heal with. Paladins can heal forever without going OOM and are great single target healers, but with the spirit changes my priest never runs out of mana either. Early TBC paladins were OP at healing, nobody brought priests around for more than imp divine spirit. Now as long as you have more than 1337 +healing, CoH is amazingly efficient and fun to spec into. I wish I had more opportunities to heal because it feels more rewarding to me than playing as shadow, but I'm in Adren's guild and they're still progressing so the more mana batteries the better for now. It's crazy how people wanted paladins over anything else back in the day and now alot of raids wish they'd have a protadin and a retadin with a single holy paladin so they still get 3 blessings and can have more powerful classes in the main healing roles. Sojourn 04-21-2008, 07:32 PM Healing... makes me want to play again. d0ggy 04-21-2008, 07:52 PM I started playing a druid this time around to my wow addiction, and i respecced at 49 to resto for BGs. Im addicted to pvp healing, and im begining to wanna roll a priest for more awesome healing powers :P d0ur 04-21-2008, 07:53 PM druids win imo once they are well geared. You have an arsenal of heals at your fingertips and keeping 3 lifeblooms on 3 targets at once is very nice. 5man heroics can be a challenge but once you get down how and who to keep certain hots on for burst anticipation you can be better then most anyone imo. For raids druids are extremely efficient healers. I love having 1-2k less +healing then priests & pallys and pretty much beating them in effective healing. The Pumpkin King 04-21-2008, 10:33 PM So like, which is the best priest race for horde? I'm guessing Undead is best for shadow? I don't know how good consume magic is in the end game. I guess I will have to go undead since I like pvp. Smaqaho 04-21-2008, 11:57 PM If you can't be an orc and can be undead then that's what you roll. | ||
