There's 1 Carvin store. This is why I won't buy their shit. Put it in Sam Ash and let me check one out, maybe. But a $900 guitar, mail order, is not my style. I'll buy used shit off Ebay all day (name brand) but fuck Carvin and their elitist bullshit.

As much as I hate Hartley Peavey, I have heard some artists work magic through his amps. I guess amps just don't matter.

haha this place really hates Peaveys. I've played some nice ones, but they're few and far between.

I thought the 5150 was total garbage but I've heard some others get some cool sounds out of it

The 5150, and its name successor the 6505, are apparently great amps with some great features. That's because EVH said "copy my marshall, and give me a clean channel" and it worked out OK.

If that's your style of music - stadium rawk - then cool.

edit: and I've played a really nice Carvin that a friend owned. The action was a little high but that guitar was HQ. If I'm gonna go that route I'd rather build a warmoth guitar myself though.
