just because you suck as mutilate doesn't mean it sucks in arena.

and what johnnyx said.

Fact is I got my new rig up and running, Intel Duo Core E6850 CPU with 2 GB RAM with a 512MB GF 6800GTS. I went from the lowest widescreen res with everything at medium/low doing 15 FPS in a crowded BG to the 1680x1050 at default settings doing a steady 55 - 60 FPS anywhere. So yes, I'm not better at Mut because I can keep up with people without video lag.

As for mut, yeah I only picked it up because I was ignorant enough to pick them up some months back. I'm grinding for at least the Slicer now so I can respec to ShS in case I get into an arena team but for now Mut's gotten a lot better. My only problem now is trying to figure out which finisher to do on the fly with all the combo points stacking up. Usually it's KS on a new opponent, Rupture mid-way through and SnD if I can't think of anything else.
That rogue just didn't know what to do then, because you can always Mut if you're on top of someone.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason this works is most 3D model games that employ hitboxes usually are a lot broader. Since in WoW the only location that really matters is the back, I would think the hitbox is cut into two halves, the front half and the back half. Even if you are facing someone's side, as long as you are more to the back half than the front half (even by fractions of distance) it will count it as the back even if it doesn't look like it.

That's the only explanation I can think of. As for backing into a wall in arena, I could see how that works. Especially if you had obstacles helping like those barriers, braziers, torches, etc. but a flat wall would do it. But I think you would have to stay perfectly still and not turn at all or a "back" would be exposed.

As for the idiot friend... I dunno what to tell you, I didn't try to prove him wrong because he's a holy pally who is pretty good at healing. No point arguing with him, he helps out a lot getting dailies done.

Pfff... Let me think... AMD Athlon MP 1.4 Ghz with a a Gig of RAM and a radeon 128MB AGP card. That old girl had a lot of time put into her, probably close to 6 - 7 years. Also I was without completely without sound when the voice comm system in WoW was implemented. Mainly because I would crash to single digit FPS wherever.

New rig is the best $800 I ever spent on a new rig. And I'm sure in 4 - 5 years I'll say that for $600 for a rig.
