Stuff running in my background

What do you do if you have a ton of unknown junk running in your background and you have already:

-Virus scan

-Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Win Defender cleared out everything they found

-Uninstalled everything that's unneeded with Control Panel> "add/remove apps"
