Feannag 04-07-2008, 04:54 PM I need Feannag's opinion on this.
My guess is a month or two before WotLK, probably the end of the summer.
Season 1 was 20 weeks.
Season 2 was 23 weeks.
This could assume Season 3 could be 20 - 23 weeks, which may put it's end between April 22nd and May 13th. Problem with that is they'd have to release some new raiding rewards to compensate, and I don't think the Sunwell's loot drops, Honor badge vendors, and 8-piece T6 sets will be enough to placate raiders. So I surmise to placate the gladiators for the extended season 3 they could make Gladiator 8 piece and add in the 3 Bs and hold S4 until the WotLK.
I hope you all will have reasonable and believeable excuses ready should I be right.
Mr_Greens 04-07-2008, 04:54 PM Probably after all bosses is released in Sunwell I hope anyway I don't really care about shit servers who cant down them why would they make us wait tell everyone is progressed they should just open it all up if thats the case.. My server had that shit cleared the first night and got a world first let us progress then ^_^
And I hope they clear our arena points its shitty first day everyones 3/5.. Three weeks later everyones 5/5.
RedSpider 04-07-2008, 05:32 PM IMO, max your arena points before S4 (if you can.) If you get too close to the cap just buy a piece of S3.
I capped honor and arena points before S3 started and it worked out well.

Guessing the start of Season Four wouldn't make up for all the other retarded remarks you've made.
xpdnc 04-08-2008, 07:45 AM Normally I'd take everyone's advice and save until I was capped on points, but my team is slowly moving up...for awhile we were just welfare-epics zomg and then we had a guildy arms warrior join who was full s3 with s2 shoulders and skillherald.
We were rated 1300....then after 11 games (we went 10-1), we were 1430, then this week we went 6-4 because only he and the hunter have pvp gear, and we ran into a bunch of 1500 teams full of people with full glad/s2 gear and they raped us.
:(

From the sounds of it, not to be mean, you're not going to be moving into a decent point flow anytime soon, so I would continue to bank your points. Continue grinding honor for your S1 set, and when S4 hits buy what you can. There will be better weapons available for less points, or a lower threshold required to get there. Springboard yourself when S4 hits, don't bother at this point in the season.
AdreNaLiNe 04-08-2008, 12:37 PM Dude, 1300? Are you serious :\
The biggest reason you're 1300-1500 is because you play literally 10 games a week, tops. As a new team, it's more about getting used to each other and hiding each other's deficiencies rather than gear (especially at that range).
Gear does make a huge difference, though. I have S3 bow, shoulders, and pants now. We made a new 3s team for a friend and I literally went in there and wiped the floor with any cloth class at the 1500 level heh.
TonyElTigre 04-08-2008, 12:48 PM its amazing how many s3 teams you see in the 1500's, its kind of a sick joke really
MistaKe 04-08-2008, 12:53 PM 1300's? :mecry:
xpdnc 04-08-2008, 01:50 PM There were a couple weeks were we couldn't get people to sign on, so Monday night we had someone sign on multiple accounts just to get the 10 games out of the way.

The S3 chestpiece is by far and away the best chest that my resto shaman has access to, so it was a pve upgrade as well :(
The World of Warcraft Armory (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bronzebeard&n=Ekspah)
It replaced Earthblood Chestguard
And by decent range, I meant maybe 1600...considering where we've been, it's a big improvement.
Falhawk 04-08-2008, 02:00 PM we only do 10 matches per week max
we also don't usually play in optimal combinations
I played 4 matches the other day as prot spec (warrior)
lol
the points you get from like 1300-1600 aren't very different. after 1600 it gets better though. We should actually restart our team since the biggest reason we are at 1330 is because our first incarnation was horrible and we lost the first 25 matches or so.
Nah if we were capable of being higher we wouldn't be going 50/50, 60/40 on matches. We'd be back up from wins. Of course getting so much money from dailies we could easily just reform the team every week to be closer to 1500 but I don't think it'd make much of a difference. We really just need to use nothing but PvP gear and use PvP specs.
Falhawk 04-08-2008, 02:42 PM I dunno
we never really try to organize good class combos etc
its more like "who wants to do the matches now. ok war/rogue/mage go"
except the warrior was prot and the mage fire
prot sucks dick
RedSpider 04-08-2008, 03:00 PM Just spec for PVP and use the right class combos... honestly don't expect to win past 1600 unless you do. In my battlegroup 300 resil @ 1500 rating is fairly standard for most teams, so one healer can keep a single DPS up forever if you don't have the gear/spec/skill.
I have a RL friend(druid) sitting at 400+ resil with 1700 healing... he does not play higher than the 1800 bracket. He is really bad at arena, but if you cant output the damage or CC, guess what :f
Falhawk 04-08-2008, 03:06 PM respec for arena
then respec for pve (fury for dps or prot for tanking)
yay
xpdnc 04-08-2008, 04:38 PM When we first started, we brought 4 dps...now we have a resto shaman, a holy paly, a 350 resi BM hunter, a frost mage, and an arms warrior.

You probably could. Fundamentally, you are playing the game more like it's:
1v1, 1v1, 1v1, 1v1, 1v1.
The whole idea is to change the mindset to 5v5. If you're in the 1500s in 5s, it's for 2 reasons:
1. The people you play with suck
2. You are inexperienced in coordinating a group attack plan.
It sounds so cliche, but...Think outside the box. Go into it with a prepped strat that's best for YOUR group makeup, and then make adjustments once you see theirs (typically, 1500s don't rush you). Gives you a chance to learn most comps too.
Terra 04-08-2008, 06:02 PM This is purely my speculation, but my guess would be sometime after the whole paid-tournament thing ends. Which obviously will take at least a month or two. I highly doubt that they'll change arena seasons in game when tournaments are going on.
