XP pro Service Pack 2

I bought a genuine copy of XP pro a long time ago and after doing a re-install today I tried to install SP2 and it says to goto howtotell.com because I do not have a verified key?

After searching, I am not going to burn a hole in my pocket again and buy a new copy considering I did that a couple years ago.

Is there a way to get a new key or SP2 without a verification check?

If you still have the original box and/or sleeve it came in it has verification numbers on it that Microsoft can use to verify your copy, you'll still need to call them and do the registration that way, it might take you all of 5-10 minutes to get it done, but you won't need to buy a new copy. Then you can get SP2 as well as all the other updates.
