Sony BMG's hypocrisy: company busted for using warez (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080331-sony-bmgs-hypocrisy-company-busted-for-using-warez.html)

Sony BMG is no stranger to piracy. As one of the most vocal supporters of the RIAA and IFPI antipiracy efforts, the company has some experience hunting down and punishing consumers who don't pay for its products. The company is getting some experience on the other side of the table, however, now that it's being sued for software piracy.

Um... its an employee(s) who did it. Or it was a fake copy bought, that they thought it was legal. Guess what, Im sure there are MS, Apple, etc. employees who do this as well. Even at "the office". They dont know the facts yet, the article assumes a lot, as does the pointdev spokesman. There is zero chance higher ups at Sony would ok pirated software.

The anti-Sony people are funny though.

That might be, but a company is responsible for the software installed on it's systems. Saying that the higher ups were not aware of it won't get them anywhere.

You must have missed this.
The Business Software Alliance, however, believes that up to 47 percent of the software installed on Sony BMG's computers could be pirated.

These is quite a bit more significant than 'just an employee who did it.' This would not happen with a management that actually gave a shit about making sure all their software was properly paid for. It is the definition of irony, considering the lengths they go to stop piracy from individual users.
