customers will expect what they payed for up front, not a crippled product that "might" improve in the future.

gg just cant seem to let go of their silly idea that gamers make good game developers/designers. unless they somehow manage to filter out the 0.1% of the community that actually has a clue about game design this whole community development idea will be yet another gg failure.

I guess I interpreted it differently. Kind of like the difference in how the T2 community rallied behind classic, versus how the Star Wars Galaxies devs made changes based on whichever angry mob posted the most on the forums that week.

What the legions devs have created is already infinitely better than T2 base or T:V, and they've had such a short window to create it.

If there will be failure, it won't be on their part, but more likely IAC's bungled involvement. Direct your hate where it belongs :P

The rocket launcher has a .75 inherited velocity, the same as in T1 (talked to the devs about it), but of course this could be subject to change.

Can additional TRIBES players materialize? I'm not so sure. I spent a lot of effort into trying to tell people how cool Portal is, and as far as I know, none of them picked it up.

At any rate, I hope this thing picks up and takes off... But I fret that Tribal Opportunity has long since missed the boat. :(

I think if it gets any new players it will be people who signed up for the instant action casual titles, and decided to give it a shot.

Much in the same way people downloaded steam for half-life, CS, DoD etc. but got into things like audiosurf because of how easy it was to acquire.

Then again, maybe not. We'll have to see.

There was a guy in beta who claimed to have never heard of Tribes or even play a FPS. Judging by his ability to play, i'd say it was true.

I hope more people find Tri... Legions interesting.
