Need new PSU

So my Ultra X-Connect PSU that I've had for about 5 years is finally dying. It's making some nasty noises (not the fans).

I was planning on building a new rig this summer with about $1200, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy the PSU a little sooner to keep my current machine running until then.

I'm hoping to build a somewhat decent computer this summer. Can anyone suggest any good PSUs? I've read that many of the new video cards can draw a lot of current (24+ amps), and most PSUs can't source that much on a single rail. I'm also a fan of modular power supplies, but I can probably make do with a non-modular one.

Thanks for any help.

I personally love Thermaltake, they have modular models as well.

Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling, Antec

I have an Antec NeoPower 650W, and it holds its own very well. Plus, its modular.

Get nothing but FSP (Fortron Source). They are bar none the best.

 My Enermax is great, modular and crossifre certified...all I need is another x1950 Pro
