Biceps question

While working out over the past several weeks, I've noticed growth in my bicep.

However it doesn't really appear as symmetric as I thought it would or should.

The muscle seems much more developed more distal from my shoulder, closer to the antecubital fossa. More proximal to my shoulder doesn't seem to be developing as much.

How can I get some more growth and development in that area?

My upper body exercises primarily consists of:

Curls
Bench Press
One Arm Should Press
Shoulder Shrugs
Front Raise
Bentover Row
Tricep extension
Pronator/Supinator exercises
Push ups

Any advice?

Should I be trying to work my shoulders more to develop that area? e.g. would working the anterior deltoid help develop it?

Or will it just develop as I work the bicep muscle larger and stronger?

try doing concentration curls

and also supinate your palms and really make sure you focus on getting a good contraction of the muscle at the end/'top' of your curl

finally, yours is a problem a few guys I know would like to have - the kids have golfball biceps that just stop a few inches before the elbow

for a complete upper arm work out you should try and hit both the long and short heads of the biceps as well as the brachialis. It's probably just the shape of your bicep, but I would make sure that I was hitting all the major muscles in an arm workout.

If you've just started working out recently, it is probably too early to judge what is going to happen when you develop.

My upper arm work consists of the following

Preacher Curls
Dumbell / Barbell Curl
Pull Up

I also do hammer curls but I don't really count those as upper arm.

Mmmmm reverse curls. I love them for some reason.

try doing your single arm curls sitting on a incline bench, so that your arm, when starting the curl, is actually behind you. It's gonna force a little more work out of your front delt and pecs, but I think it is going to hit the part of the muscle you are talking about nicely.

Football buddy of mine said the same thing. This is truth.

just what i believe, but aside from what rayn said about hitting a few different heads that might just be the way you are made and all the shifting and changing wont do shit.

genetics play a HUGE roll in how your muscles look when the bulk up.
