It's all about the micellar matrix (chocolate) + whole milk shaken up in a water bottle a few hours before bedtime. It's delicious.
I just got my first protein shake down...x0rcist 03-28-2008, 11:23 PM It's all about the micellar matrix (chocolate) + whole milk shaken up in a water bottle a few hours before bedtime. It's delicious. Mid 03-30-2008, 01:01 PM 3/4 cup oatmeal, 1 tsp flax seed, 2 cups fresh frozen fruit, 3 cups water or skim milk, 1 banana, 1-2 scoops vanilla isobolic whey = yum Cavalier 04-11-2008, 07:51 AM You shouldnt need to mix in icecream to your protein shakes to make them drinkable. Other than maybe some fruit (not bananas either - i'm talking Pinapples, Apples, Plums, etc...) it should basically just be the shake & water. If it tastes like shit then get a better powder. Its worth the extra money if it means you aren't struggling to take it down twice a day. I've been using this one that someone linked here a year or so ago called Nitrean by AtLarge Fitness. Its been great, and worth the extra money. TooSmoothe 04-11-2008, 10:36 AM I'm really just getting into the whole protein shake deal and have some concerns about the cholesterol in this shit. I come from a long line of high cholesterol males and notice that one serving of EAS protein blend has 80mg of cholesterol and I've seen worse. I like making my own things and like the idea of adding oatmeal etc. to shakes, know of any good websites that give recipes for different and more healthy shakes? Dietary cholesterol hasn't been shown to raise blood cholesterol really. What effects blood cholesterol most is Saturated fats. Even so, Optimum Nutrition makes protein powder with very low cholesterol. Check it out if you're still concerned. Kelloggs1 04-12-2008, 03:45 AM I use ON Whey. TeckMan 05-20-2008, 03:26 AM shakes should be consumed pera workout I make a very concentrated shake and drink 1/4 before (about 15 mins before hitting the gym, then a 10-15 min warmup so it's well into my system when i'm lifting) 1/4 during 1/4 immediatly after my last heavy set (followed by about 5-10 mins of cooldown) and the last 1/4 during the hour post-workout I recommend this regiment. | ||
